Pay rates for LPN's and RN's near Charlotte.....

Published

Hi all,

I am new here and a soon to be graduating LPN here in NY. My boyfriend and I are planning on moving to NC ( just north of Charlotte ) after I graduate and pass my board test here in NY. I am trying to find out what pay a new LPN can expect near the fast growing Charlotte area. Also, I plan on continuing my education and becoming an RN as well. What is the pay rate for RN's in and around Charlotte.

Thanks so much !!

my older sister has been an lpn for 20 years or more. she started at elmhurt hospital in ny and now works for the dept of corrections. i live in north charlotte. i was once interested in pursing an degree as a lpn. until i heard that they were being phased out in hospitals. new lpns usually make 28,000-30,000 in ltc. your best bet is corrections. starting pay is 34,000 and up..

good luck:up:

As stated in the previous post, LPNs not utilized in hospitals in this area a lot. They have been phasing them out for a while now. You will be more apt to find a LPN working in a long term care facility than a hospital.

ok great, thanks for the info. How about pay rates in long term care facilities? Any Ideas on what they get paid?

Hi. Some long-term care facilities start out with 18/hr.

thats about what I was hoping for.....somewhere in the high teens to close to $20/hr. I plan on continuing for my RN down there, so hopefully I can inprove my worth to soething more than a long term care facility.

If you factor in shift-diff, you could make that easily.
