Hello all,
I may be moving back to Utah after nursing school. What is the starting pay for new grad RN's there? I'd like to stick to the SLC area, probably looking into UofU or LDS hospitals. For any that work at SLC, how do they treat new grads? Any advice? Thanks!

I like St. Mark's because of my bosses. They are the best I have had.
I believe that new grad pay is about $18/hr for RN. I am NOT stating that that is what St. Mark's pays!
Caio!
Thanks For the Info

Yeah there is some good rental apartments around the hospital. I just don't know them. I live a good 30 min. south by car.
Try this web site. http://www.apartmentfinder.com
the address of the hospital is: 1200 East 3900 South Zip code: 84124
If you want more help PM me and we can chat.

I'm a new grad and I can tell you that the U of U starts you out at $18.40 and IHC/LDS start you out at $18.75. The U pays a little more for a BSN and both will give more if you have some experience. St. Mark's now starts out at $19.00/hour. I started out working on 2 East (Special Care Unit) at the U of U but the orientation was so disorganized and they treated me so bad I ended up leaving. The hopital is a great place, but that unit was just bad.
Good Luck :)

Does this still hold true. As an RN? I make about 30/hr as a new grad in MN and would like to finish school and work in Utah but unsure if I could make it on those wages. Any good travel companies in the area?

Only a bit higher now. $20-23 for new grads.

If I were you, I'd stay away from any IHC hospital. They pay their nurses $21.80 and have a hold of utah nurses by the balls. They also just cut their 401K matching program completely. Go to the VAMC, U of U, or some other hospital besides one that IHC owns.

An update would be great here.
I'm starting an ADN program in August, should be done by December 2010. I'm interested in finding out what hospital chains each pay.
I know for a fact that IHC pays new grads 21.80/hr. I've heard rumors about the rest. Any word on what University pays? IASIS? Mountainstar?
