hello everyone.
i'm slated to take my nclex on january in the pearson vue center in makati. i understand that the only acceptable means of identification is the passport. also, according to the 2008 nclex bulletin " all identification must be calid (not expired) with signature and photograph. all identification must be in english and signed in english".
my passport issued by the dfa does not have any space for signature. there's no line alloted for signature and the words "bearer's signature" under it. so my question is, will the pearson center honor my passport even if it has no signature? would you advise that i just place my signature there anyway? has anybody ever taken the exam using a passport without a signature?
thank you very much.

I used the new Passport issued by DFA last February when I took the NCLEX. They honored my passport, but they asked me for another valid ID (I presented my PRC License) with my signature. I think you will not have a problem. Goodluck and God Bless on your exam

of course they do acknowledge the maroon passport. I took mine last march using the maroon one. So i can imply that. Just make sure to bring additional IDs so they can verify your signature --like your PRC ID. Good luck!
Oh I'm relieved to know that. Thank you very much for answering my query. I will do my best in the exam. Thank you again. God bless all! :)

Just a note though, you should harass DFA for a new passport with the signature line at some point. When you travel abroad the lack of a signature line can cause you a lot of problems since it screams "FAKE" to the immigration officials.
DFA screwed up on a whole batch of those, they should fix it for you.

does the immigration officers know when a certain passport is a fake besides the signature? what is the purpose of the the applicant's signature when taking the nclex rn?

To make sure it is the correct person taking the exam, a way to reduce fraud. They will also take a picture of you
since my passport doesn't have a signature & I will be taking my nclex in the US, does Pearson vue in the US accepts PRC license as another I'D w/ signature?
There are LOTS of ways an immigration official will look at the passport to spot a fake, but they will really scrutinize one missing a signature line altogether.
You can be refused entry to a country if they feel that your passport is fraudulent even if it did come directly from DFA. Remember, going to another country is never a guarantee, they can always tell you to go home at the airport for pretty much any reason.
They should except anything as a legal document with signature i.e. driving license
my friend told me that the signature is already embedded in the machine readable passport, is this true?
i have researched that the only valid ID that can be used in the US are passport w/ signature, driver's license and a state ID.. i dont have the last 2 IDs... ='(
