Super long post!!!
I completed my ADN program on 5/26 and we had a 3 day live review through Elsevier. I honestly didn't find it very helpful. So my school required we attend that, have a 850 or higher on the exit HESI, and have a 16 on the CAT which is supposed to be like the mock boards and this was in order for them to pay for my boards the first time. During nursing school I was a B average student for the most part. The exit HESI I had to take 3 times since completing school because I just couldn't get that 850. I got a 823, 767, 837 and after that last test I said I wasn't taking the exit HESI again so the DON said I could take the CAT but I need to get a 17 well I tried that and got a 14 something. I cried and just felt so discouraged like I'm not going to pass my boards. So I finally decided to pay for UWORLD after joining the Facebook group. I did questions for about two weeks and retook the CAT, this time I got a 16.22. The DON released my info to the board of nursing. I scheduled my test for 8/17. I accepted a position at a hospital doing CNA work on third shift until I passed my boards. So I would answer uworld questions from 25-100/day. I would write the rationales for the ones I got wrong and the ones I got right but wasn't quite sure about. A few days before my test I stopped answering questions because I felt like my brain was tired so I reviewed a few rationales and some of the 35 page study guide someone posted. The day before my test I didn't do any studying at all but something that I enjoy! The day of my test I had my grandmother pray for me before I walked in. I sat down for my test wrote some biblical verses on the white erase board and few other inspirational words. My test shut off at 75 questions after 3 hrs. I walked out to my car and cried because I knew for sure I failed because I didn't feel like I knew the right answers to a lot of the questions. I did the trick right after I got the email and got the good pop up. The next day I was constantly checking the BON site for my license number and finally at 10:56 pm I seen my license number. Good luck to the future test takers!!!

You should feel lucky, our school made it a requirement to get 900 on hesi exit or you WILL NOT graduate. Cant go take boards. Congrats though. Just shows that HESI is not the "all and mighty powerful indicator of a good nurse," its actually the farthest thing from it.
Thank you! I wish schools wouldn't do that because I don't think it really is much of an indicator because the exit HESI isn't even like the NCLEX in my opinion.
