Passed NCLEX-RN on 2nd attempt

Published

Hello everyone! I utilized this site when I failed my exam so I am going to share my story as well.

I took boards on August 1st and failed with 160 questions. I decided to reevaluate my life. I stopped working, I did other reviews, and I changed my date THREE times. PS: Don't let nobody tell you "the more you wait the more likely you fail." That's crap and I'm a living witness to WAITING and WINNING the battle.

This is time around I did 200 questions a day on UWORLD and remediated. Great site! It was made for doctors and they added nursing so YOU KNOW it's hard lol. I completed 1200 questions and my average was a 53% (they want a 60 to pass NCLEX). I only did QT7 from Kaplan and remediated (made a 55%, they want a 60% for NCLEX). It didn't help MUCH but it helped me prepare to sit and think. I also did NCSBN 5 week review (didn't really help me). I kept reviewing HURST as well (I used HURST the first time and it didn't contribute to NCLEX at all but I gained confidence with knowing my content). Another PS: DO NOT focus on your average or compare with ANYONE. People with 70s on Kaplan QT's fail NCLEX and people who are in the 40s pass NCLEX.

I I took my test again on 11/28/15 and it shut off at 100 questions. I felt like a COMPLETE failure. I just knew I had more to prove. I did the PVT 3 times after 24 and 48 hours and each time got the good pop up. I paid for quick results and shonuff it said PASS.

If if I passed NCLEX, I promise you can. I wasn't the smartest student, teachers told me I wouldn't make it, and I was struggling to keep a 3.0. I kept God first. My advice to you is: Leave the situation at His feet. Pray about it, give it to God, and put in work. I had peace about the test this time.

I hope this helps! God bless

I love what you wrote at the bottom. Congrats on passing and thank you for sharing. I will never understand why teachers speak negative...is it a way to push you? maybe but you overcame any negative obstacle coming your way! Great job :)
