First and foremost I want to say THANK YOU to all the people on All Nurses - I been on this site religiously and it has helped me tremendously in my journey.
I want to tell you a little bit about myself. I am not an A student-nor have I ever been! I am happy to be "average". All through school I got Bs and Cs. I graduated on April 26th and secured a job on the Gyn Oncology floor! I was scheduled to start on 6/15 as long as I passed Nclex.
I was scared to death of the test. I have read (on this site) and heard horror stories about the smartest people failing and I thought I for sure didn't have a chance of passing. I signed up for Hurst review and read it every day for 3 weeks starting on May 1st. I then began to take the Q reviews and found them somewhat difficult. I was averaging between a 75-80 out of 125. I even took a few Kaplan tests (my friend let me use hers to practice a little bit) and I was getting 62%. So I felt a bit discouraged. However, I studied for 4 hours a day 4weeks. The last week before I took Nclex I was doing only questions (about 150-200 a day).
I took the test on 6/3/15 and I was scared to death. From the first question on-I was really scared. I thought through each question and was ready to go all the way. I never expected to get 75. I know what kind of student I am and just prepared myself for that. So as it kept going on and on-I just powered on. It was hard-it was so hard. There was stuff on there I had never heard of, stuff I couldn't remember for the life of me. I just read it and picked my best answer. However, it let me go all the way through. So I thought that I must be doing something right.
Then came the last question. Oh the question that you have to get right supposedly. My heart was racing and I thought for sure I had it right. Got to my car and looked and of course I didn't. So I missed the LAST question, went all the way to 265, had only 20 or so SATA questions. BUT I PASSED!!! I found out today. I was a nervous wreck and it said "PASS"... SOOOOO... I want everyone on here that thinks they failed-don't count yourself out. I had. I was a mess for two days. I went to 265, had only a few sata, and missed the last question and I PASSED... HAVE faith. If I can do it-everyone else can! I read this site over and over for two days! I googled "passed with 265" "passed with a few sata". Just trying to see if my situation applied to anyone else.
SO I am now an RN. Wasn't an amazing student. Totally average-that's ok! I did it. I worked hard and did it. So can anyone else. So if you miss the last question, go to 265, don't have a lot of Sata-you may have passed. Nclex is a tough beast and I wish everyone out there the best of luck! Take my situation as an example of hope that you passed as well too!!!

Thanks for sharing your story. I don't know why, but I feel like the test is on every nursing student's side. I've heard numerous stories of people passing with 265 questions. I am glad you are one of those who passed with the maximum # and good luck on your new job!

First off, congrats, I too got to 265 and passed, I know what you went through the day after. You may have not been an amazing student but strive to be an amazing nurse, people will always remember how you make them feel when you are around and school can NEVER teach that. once again, congrats

Congrats!! It really is a relief. I also got 265 questions on June 1st and passed. I've heard of many getting 265 and passing. Good luck with your new job, it sounds like an awesome journey ahead :)

Congratulations to everyone who passed their NCLEX-RN. And I would like to encourage everyone who is about to take it or will be retaking it.
I found out I passed the NCLEX-RN a few days ago and I had 265 question. Like most stories I have read on this forum, I too left the test center feeling like I totally failed! I got home and tried the PVT trick and it indicated that my results were on hold. After four days of waiting, I finally checked the Pearson site and it indicated my result was available. With heart pounding, I paid and found out I passed.
If I can make it, anyone can make it.
How I studied: I registered for the exam as soon as I received my ATT, giving myself 4 weeks to study for the exam. I tried to do 150 questions (from Kaplan qbank) a day and remediated on the same day or sometimes the following day. I did all the qbank questions and averaged at 55%.
I am happy to be joining an incredible group of women and men in this wonderful profession of nursing.

I just passed and I also had 265! I was certain I failed too haha I do have a bit of advice, turn off the icon that lets you see what number you're on. I was so focused on what number it was and that really messed with my head. I kept counting down to 75 and when the computer didn't turn off I was so upset, then every few more that it didn't turn off I was more and more upset. Somewhere in the 100s I actually gave up on myself. I stopped caring and was just going with whatever. At some point I finally thought that if I have to be here I might as well make the most of it and I started to try again but I was still looking at the number. I also suggest taking breaks, I was there 5.5 hours (including the tutorial and servey) I took 3 breaks to clear my mind, I would go potty, eat a snack and talk to the works haha Moral of my story is to not give up, push through all of the questions knowing that you will pass!!!

Wow.... Same thing happened to me when I took it on the first (12/01/15) .... Went all the way... Felt good walking until I went to the car and checked my last question which I got wrong haha. I was trying not to give up hope..the following morning I rejoiced when I saw that I passed. Such an amazing feeling. Thanks for sharing your testimony ! Stories like these encouraged me while I was preparing for the big day :)

Although I'm nervous about getting 265 last night, I'd be more upset if it cut off early. It looks like most people who pass get 75 questions or 265.
