Passed Nclex 7/02...heres how

Published

I graduated from my nursing program in May of this year. I took Nclex 07/02/12 and passed. For all those seeking advice on how to pass there is only one thing to assure you pass....KNOW the content. To me the NCLEX was not hard at all.....they questions were as easy as pie (in my opinion) ...my computer cut off at 75 questions and immediately I know that I had passed...I started celebrating the moment I stepped outside of the testing center (before I even checked the PVT). I was a little scared because I had heard all of the HORROR stories...but in my mind I kept thinking there is no WAY that I failed this test. NOW don't get me wrong, STUDY....STUDY...STUDY....STUDY I studied for 2 months straight. I used FEUR and Hurst to review content....I would review GI in Feuer then I would Review GI in Hurst....I did this for all the subjects...after covering the content I would answer questions from Saunders, then NCLEX 4000, then I would answer questions on Kaplan...I did anywhere from 50-200 questions a day depending on how I was feeling...so I studied my behind OFF and that's why I think the test was super easy. If asking which material helped the most I would Say FEUER because it gave the most content. Hurst also helped, but in my opinion FEUER was better. When it comes down to questions------ Kaplan questions are much harder!!! Saunders and NCLEX 4000 are more like the NCLEX questions (in my opinion).  As for Pharm...I was sure I was in trouble here b/c I didn't study much of pharm ( it was just too overwhelming),  but luckily  out of the 8 meds that I had there was only 1 that had  no clue about. AS for the SATA... I was really scared of these before the test...but they were really easy. They were not hard at all, but it was just the thought of having more than 1 answer. SO here is what I am saying....its good to do questions...but knowing the content was better. I did not have to use KAPLAN's Decision tree...(which cost me around 400.00) because I know the content. The questions were easy b/c I knew the content. I also used the study guide that has been posted on this site....it was a major help for infection controlall the upcoming NCLEX takers my advice is CONTENT...CONTENT....CONTENT
