Got a B on that one, glad it's over!!!
So my question to everyone is, am I crazy if I try and take Life Span 1 on Tuesday of next week? Found out my Pearson center has an opening.. and since I am pretending the FCCA is still going on the computer in May... I have a definate momentum going. I went ahead and took practice test form A this evening, did not study yet, just to see where I stood, and scored a 72. I kind of feel like I have a good baseline understanding of the material, definately need to review and study, but don't feel like I have so much that I am unfamiliar with.
Anyone have any tips/advice? Any pointers on LS1?
Thanks everyone!! :-)
On the mission for RN in 2011 for sure. We can do it guys!

Wow!! 72 without even cracking a book is good! Sorry, I can't offer guidance on when to test. I just took practice exam a and got a 70 and I studied 28 hours over the weekend, lol!! Good luck with what you decide!
Loops I am a tele nurse so it was more of a pride thing of me taking it the first time without studying. I am used to interpreting EKGs, working codes, and titrating drips at work. My boyfriend stood over my shoulder (who is a CVICU/CCU nurse so he's a cardio snob) was like "um, if you can't answer that question, you should be fired." I was like uhhh thanks for the motivation, honey?
Anyway, I know you are testing on Friday, I want to see if I can get my parents to come watch my son Thursday night so I can study, when do you usually do your chats?
You can kick my butt at reproductive since you help with C/S and such and probably give me some repro tips? :-) I am terrified of that. The only L&D experience I have is giving birth and I never even had a peds patient in school. I got a 25 year old. I feel incompetent to even give my son meds, LOL.

I won't be home on Thursday night to do a chat, sorry!!
The Repro exam really wasn't not difficult at all. If you work in ICU/Tele then you will have alot of info on board for LS1, since alot of seems Cardio, meds, Chest tubes, Vents, etc..The exam I am not looking foward to is LS2 with 45% psych, ish! Lol....

Yuck I know, I am saving LS2 for last so I can spend more time on it... especially endocrine... I think I hate that more than sensory!!!! Atleast psych is some what interesting.
I am worried about Reproductive, I hope I do well. One of my friends told me it was all about male parts and fairly doable and another of my friends told me hers was almost entirely peds and it was very difficult. I am going to follow the content guide... I have a few weeks until I test on it... hopefully I can get it by then. I think the part about having a peds pt during the CPNE scares me the most, though.
I got my first 160 question test w/Chronicity. Even my LS3 was 130, I think that 130 questions is plenty. When the heck did they go to 160??? Is it randomized? By 145 my eyes were blurring, especially with the weird questions on that test. The girl said I had her cracking up, my Pearson is a single room with a camera and a microphone, so she could hear me talking to myself and sighing really loud, LMBO
All best on Friday, you will be a rockstar :-)

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! :~)
Westpalm, you will do great, don't freak out! will try and swing by the office tomorrow, we are in the middle of moving and my house is so hectic right now, I would have come by today but I had to wait for Comcast alll day!
Anyways, not going to lie, Chronicity is a difficult exam.. but I really don't think it's difficult material.. it's just like tricky and honestly a bit subjective in areas. My advisor sent me a email today after I emailed her that I passed and I was upset that I did not get an A (I did SO poorly in a few areas, but I got 87-90% in 3 or 4 or them, I think that's what got me the B instead of a C) and told me that NO ONE... not ONE student.. got an A on Chronicity in 2010! Do you believe that??? Now I don't feel so bad.
Mine was very focused on peds (as usual), cultural diversity (lots and lots of this!!! All areas of it), sensory, pain, end of life and LOTS of medications.
Study care planning and interventions very carefully.

I am off tomorrow, but I can meet with you @ Barnes to give you the CD. Glad you did great, I stop using SG101 cause the content I feel does not follow the study guidelines, after reading this post I am more freak out lol... call me to let me know if we can meet.
