Pass The NCLEX the second time!!! YAY!!!

Published

I promised I would come back to this site and put this post to inspire others who are in the situation that I was in. I took the NCLEX right after I graduated Nursing school (about a month later). And I must say my experience was a horrible one. I had anxiety like no tomorrow. I couldn't think straight and I was shaking and all kind of stuff was happening to me. I actually sat there the whole six hours had about 217 questions or so and did the PVT trick and got the credit card.

I woke up the next morning and checked my results and I failed. The WORSE feeling in the world. I felt like my whole world came down all around me. I felt like I let me family down, and most importantly I felt like I let myself down. It was like all I have been working hard for...GONE!!! I asked God what and how and when and where and everything else in between, loll (I can laugh at it now). And you will too. So, I prayed more and went to church and honestly made a commitment to myself that I had to get myself up and try again.

Nursing is everything to me. I had something to prove to myself and to be an example for my kids. I sent my paperwork and as soon as my 45 days were up I called and harassed the BON and got my ATT the following week.

While waiting I studied Hurst, NCLEX CRAM 4th edition Practice Questions (came out 6/26/2013), and Kaplan Strategies for Success 2013-2014. I reviewed the content and did questions everyday. I did questions everywhere (at the doctors office, at the store, waiting for gas to pump, LOLLL...Everywhere) My last week I studied for about 10 hours/day. :dead: And I prayed, I prayed before I studied, after I studied, before bed, dinner...whenever I got a chance to prayed I stuck NCLEX in there somewhere)

To anyone out there who is feeling down and don't know if they can do this or get back up, I am here to tell you, YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE!! You have to trust and you have to pray. I am a catholic and I found a prayer at church I will put them at the bottom. I made a promise that I would post these prayers to help someone else in need.

Anyways, I took my NCLEX on Tuesday 7/16/13, 75 question and 2 hours later, I Passed.:sarcastic: And to further tell you how good GOD is, I got a job offer that same day. I am truly blessed and very grateful and humbled for I believe God came through big time and this is a way I can pay back; try to help someone else. Good Luck, study hard and PUSH (Pray Until Something Happens)!!!

PRAYERS BELOW:

Saint Jude Novena

In the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Oh my God I believe that You are my Father, that You created me and love me with a divine love, and that when I pray, You hear my prayer, Therefore, my Father, I hope in You, because You are Almighty, and can do all things, I look to You for all my needs, and because of this deep hope I love you with every beat of my heart, and I am sorry that I ever sinned against you, and I want to love my brother as I love myself.

Therefore, with unbounded faith in the Power and the Mighty Intercession of Your servant St. Jude, I do make this solemn novena

Glorious Apostle, and Martyr, St. Jude, I began these days of prayer to beg your help and to ask your intercession so that Almighty God , because of you will grant me my present need. (PAUSE) (Here make known your intention)

Help all of us, Oh dear St. Jude, in our needs and inspire us to believe that there is nothing that will be for my good but that God through you will grant me, for Jesus, my Saviour, has said, "If you ask the Father anything in my name He will give it to you". Therefore, in the Name of Jesus and in the name of St. Jude, I ask Almighty God to grant me my petition. Amen.

The Lord Is My Shepherd

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Hymn To ST. Jude

We come to your altar, our faith brings us here, We come to implore you, may God hear our prayer, Oh good St. Jude we call on your name, All your praises your servants proclaim.

Conclusion Prayer

O Loving and dear St. Jude look aside from my unworthiness and look only to the mercy and the love of Jesus and please take to God's Heart this intention for which I pray. I do promise that I will encourage others to seek your aid and I will do all that I can to tell others how great and good you are. with the Faith and with this Hope, I place myself in your hands through Jesus Christ Our Lord, Amen.

O Heavenly Father, please place your healing hands upon all who make this novena and for the glory of Your name, hear and answer our prayer, AMEN.

St. Jude Pray for us.

I PRAYED THIS PRAYER RIGHT BEFORE I WENT IN TO TAKE THE TEST:

Prayer to St. Joseph of Cupertino for success in Examination

O Great St. Joseph of Cupertino who while on earth did obtain from God the grace to be asked at your examination only the questions you knew, obtain for me a like favour in the examinations for which I am now preparing. In return I promise to make you known and cause you to be invoked.

Through Christ our Lord. St. Joseph of Cupertino, Pray for us. Amen.

O St. Joseph of Cupertino who by your prayer obtained from God to be asked at your examination, the only preposition you knew. Grant that I may like you succeed in the (name of exam: NCLEX).

In return I promise to make you known and cause you to be invoked.

O St. Joseph of Cupertino pray for me

O Holy Ghost enlighten me

Our Lady of Good Studies pray for me

Sacred Head of Jesus, Seat of divine wisdom, enlighten me.

(Remember, when you succeed in the exams then you should thank St. Joseph of Cupertino in the Newspaper.)

Holy Spirit, you who makes me see every-thing and who shows me the way to reach my ideals, you who gives me the Divine gift to forgive and forget all that is done to me, and you who are in all the instincts of my life with me, I in this short dialogue, want to thank you for everything and affirm once more that I never want to be separated from you, no matter how great the material desires may be. I want to be with you and my loved ones in their perpetual glory. To that end and submitting to God's holy will, I ask from you..... etc. (your request).

OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR POST..

I took my test and failed :( it felt like my life was over. I had a very bad anxiety attack on the day of the test..

my question to you is, what did you do differently second time around to decrease your anxiety? Do you have to reapply for ATT or you call the BON and they will go over the process on the phone after 45 days? when does your day begin? From the day you took your test or from the day you got your letter?

Also, how soon did you start studying again? did you take a break to clear your mind?

Thank you soo much for sharing! CONGRATS!!!!:)
