I just had an interview on Monday for a nurse resident position in the NNICU. This is my dream job and I want it SOO bad, but I feel like I did not shine as bright as I could in my interview because all the questions were those situation one "tell me about a time...". I still think it went well I just wish I would have said more. I already work on a different floor as a student/tech, so I don't know how much that will affect whether or not they choose me. Any current employees or other people who applied have any information on the residency/hiring process? Is the medication test only if you get offered a position? Thanks for any feedback.

I've also applied at Parkland for their internships and have an interview on Monday. Any tips for me to help with my interview prep? And did you end up getting the job? Good luck with the job search!

That's good! Gobananas I hope you get the job please keep us posted! I have a question for you Gobananas and excessively diverted. When did y'all apply for your position and when did you hear from Parkland HR? Did they call you first or did you call them the status of the application? Thanks!
I applied october 12th and onward as I saw positions posted. I never heard from anyone at Parkland so I called last week and was told generic info and "we will contact you if we're interested." I didn't want that to be the last I heard, so I emailed a person from the recruitment department saying that I was unable to get any information out of the phone call and how I would like to speak to a nurse recruiter directly to set up an interview. I was called back 5 hours later by a nurse recruiter who said it was odd that I hadn't received any call as I was one of the first people to apply for the jobs and that she could schedule me an interview next week. She also let me pick which department I wanted to interview for. It's the only interview I've had thus far, so hopefully I will get the job!
What unit did you apply for? I hope you get the job!!!!
Thank you! And I actually applied to EVERY nurse resident position they posted haha but I'm interviewing for the NNICU.
I sent you a pm!
For some reason I can't PM, but you can email me at [email protected]
I actually was not offered the position. The questions are all the typical ones "tell me about a time...". I am going to have another interview for labor and delivery hopefully next week. It kind of sucked though that the job I wanted the most was my very first interview, like I was getting 'warmed up' but I will be very prepared for the next one. How about you?

Gobananas15, just curious, how did they inform you that you did not get the position? E-mail, call?
And don't get discouraged. Sometimes the things we want in life are not the right things for us, it just may mean there is something better for you out there! Good luck!
The recruiter called me and told me. I asked if she had any information as to why I was not selected and she said she didn't that they just give her a list of people not selected. =[
Sorry to hear that. Just keep in good with the recruiter so she'll keep you in the mind for other positions. Hopefully you'll get an L&D interview soon. At least you have an idea of questions that can be thrown at you. My first interview was horrible! They asked me a lot of scenario questions, like if this happened, what would you do. I left that interview so embarrassed and though I really wanted it, I was glad I didn't get it cause I was too embarrassed to see those people again. haha
