Parkland ICU training

Hey I was just wondering if anyone had gone through ICU intership/training at Parkland? If so, what did you think of it? Did you like working at Parkland/in Dallas? I'm originally from Houston and I go to school in Austin so I haven't spent a ton of time in Dallas/Ft. Worth. Thanks.

There is a thread below that says "Any Parkland Nurses", it may help you.

I've read those posts and found that they were more about working at Parkland in general...not specifically about the ICU training. I was wondering if anyone had actually gone through their ICU residency/internship as a new grad. Thanks for pointing out that post though.

hi,

i have lived in dallas for the past 7 years and started at parkland in 1999 in the labor and delivery residency program. it's very hard to get into these programs cuz people are always wanting the excellent training. i had to apply twice to finally get in, and i got the best training and learning experiences i ever could have imagined. i worked there for 4 years until last year when i decided to try travel nursing. if you are interested in learning icu, you will learn more than you ever wanted to. it's an awesome place, very overwhelming at first, you will work HARD but it is well worth it. good luck! email me if you have further questions.
