panursesvote.org, a new voter registration initiative by the pa state nurses association, today officially launched its new website encouraging nurses to vote in this upcoming election through its quick and easy online voter registration form.
the pa state nurses association believes that through offering nurses the tools to turn awareness into action in a nonpartisan format, each nurse, no matter what party affiliation, will hopefully continue to stay aware and vocal in the nursing community.
"with one out of every 64 pa residents being a nurse, there is an opportunity for nurses to increase the power they hold in the minds of their state representatives through increasing their numbers at the polls in this upcoming presidential election," said michele campbell, msn, rnc and executive administrator for the pa state nurses association. "our hope is to increase the number of votes, so to unify our voice at the polls and send the message that our profession is a heavyweight."
while registering to vote at www.panursesvote.org, visitors may also opt-in for a bi-weekly voter newsletter, covering information pertaining to the nursing industry and health care at the state, local and national levels.
registering to vote is just the beginning, as rep. mary anne dailey points out, "awareness and activity, when combined can create a power that begs to be dealt with. registering to vote is the first step toward activity for nurses."
