PA SBON Prescriptive Authority Question

Published

Hello all,

I am beginning to complete paperwork for my 1st NP job! Exciting:) So, its a small practice and the HR contact is walking me through the paperwork, but she herself is not too familiar with the prescriptive authority paperwork.

I did send in the form that my school needed to complete and they forwarded that to the PA SBON and the remainder of the collaborative paperwork is complete and on its way to the PA SBON.

So, my question is now...how do I go about getting a DEA number in PA? Do I just go to the DEA office of diversion control website and complete the application? I will be prescribing scheduled medications.

Thank you and if I missed any detail please let me know because I am pretty much doing this on my own.

PS. I know the cost is 731.00 and the practice is reimbursing me.
