newcourtland marks opening of nursing school

newcourtland is holding a grand opening event thursday for its school of practical nursing, which the non-profit, senior services organization has established to expand nurse education opportunities in philadelphia and increase the number of qualified nurses in pennsylvania.

u.s. rep chaka fattah, d-phila.; philadelphia deputy commerce director kevin dow; and city councilwoman donna reed miller are among those expected to attend the event.

the event will include a plaque dedication ceremony and tours of the new nursing school’s patient simulation training lab.

newcourtland is a nursing home operator that also provides community services, affordable housing, education and work force development programs to meet the needs of low-income seniors in philadelphia.
