OU Medical Center Nurse Residency

Published

Does anyone have any recent experience with OU Medical Center's Nurse Residency program for new graduates? How competitive is the hiring process? Are there qualifications they prefer over another, such as BSN?

I am just starting to consider which nursing schools I want to apply to when I finish my pre-reqs, and I wanted to get a better idea of what they were looking for when hiring new graduates- and also what the experience is like. I found a few threads on the forum, but they were all older, so I'm curious if there is someone with more recent experience and insight.

Thank you!

My information may or may not be accurate, but I heard that approximately 200 applications are received for each new grad residency job posting because people really want to work at OU Medical Center.

Have you reviewed the $6,000 penalty for breaking the 2 year contract? They are trying to slow down the high turnover rate at that hospital.

There are many new nurse applicants from all over the country. Most of the applicants for OUMC are new nurses.
