OU 2020 ABSN PROGRAM (2019 APPLICANT)

U.S.A. Oklahoma

Published

Hello Guys,

I am sure most of us have read all through last applicants and followed their journey. Now,it's our turn and I am super nervous and excited like most of you. I decided to create this page to give us an early start to sharing our journey and stating our fears. Hoping that in all through the completion of our remaining pre-requisites and submission of our application this 2019 for the 2020 admission year, we will virtually have a committee that can be there for us. So, let's get rolling guys. Share your fears, your journey and your joys and let's get motivated together.

So I applied to all three locations just to give myself a better chance, but I prefer OKC. Does any one know if I get accepted into Lawton, if I will still be in the running for OKC since that decision comes out first?

Hi all,

I recently applied to the traditional BSN for fall 2020 in OKC. When I spoke with an advisor, she said that I will find out if I got in up to 30 days after I submit my applications. This is a long shot, but do any of y'all know if that's actually how it works for traditional BSN? I didn't know that receiving a decision way before the application is due is even a thing. Did those of you who have already gotten accepted find out before the application was due?

I was told that anyone who meets their priority enrollment will find out once they get their GPA's calculated. Then whoever does not meet that enrollment will find out once the committee meets. This was for the Accelerated option though so I don't know if it is the same for the traditional path. Hope this helps!

I found out I was in before the application deadline, but I submitted everything on the first day it was available. I had also sent in my transcripts before I applied. As soon as I switched to verified status on Nursing CAS, I got an email asking about my in progress class. I answered back and then immediately got an acceptance email.

I got into OU Lawton! Anyone else?

Anyone know when the committee will make their decisions and let the rest of us know if we got in or not?

Sidenote: Any other mommas applying/accepted to the ABSN in Tulsa?

I received my acceptance email Nov 7.

I applied to the program last year. My GPA in my last 60 hours of my Bachelor's degree was a 3.73. I only had two classes left to complete before June and my science GPA was 4.0.... I didn't get in.

I was finishing A&P 2 & Microbiology when the decisions were being made. I sent the transcript for them the week the committee met. The lady I spoke to shattered my dreams but it helped understand the process. Even though they do encourage you to update your application the truth is they will most probably go off of where you were at the day you applied or when they make decisions. So for me the day I applied it looked like I was missing 18 hours even though I was going to be done with everything by June. My science GPA was 4.0 but I was "missing" two. I realized they give a lot of preference to students who are either done with their requirements or very close. I ended up taking the rest of the Spring/Summer off to finish those last two classes in the Fall.

This year I had everything done except Chemistry when I applied. Same GPA values and I got in. Sorry if that makes people so nervous but I wish someone had told me so I was better prepared for the potential bad news to re-apply the following year.

Has anyone applied to the okc Tulsa summer 2020 asbn? If so has anyone heard back on their application

Hey all, I just heard from OU - I got into the Tulsa ABSN. Should give some hope to others who hadn’t finished all the sciences - I had two in progress and am taking micro this spring before the start of the program.

I’m an alternate ?

Does anyone know someone in a past class who can share a better ballpark of the program cost? The Bursar's Office and the Financial Aid office have different estimates that are 8k off and I want to apply for a student loan now that i'm working vs a month before when I resign.
