Other options besides bedside nursing?

Hello Fellow RNs:

I was wondering if anyone had some ideas or opportunities besides bedside nursing for BS prepared RN with two years of experience? Thankyou.

My advice? Play to your strengths by exploring jobs that would be related to your past experience. In the meantime, look for opportunities to do something 'extra' in your current job. Many potential employers are looking for candidates that are 'motivated' and 'self-directed', particularly when it comes to non-traditional jobs that are less task-oriented and more independent. You need to establish a track record to demonstrate that you are ready for greater responsibility. Involvement in committees, task forces or extra projects will add a lot to your resume.
