Hi!
This is OT but has anybody had Lasik eye surgery done on Long Island or Manhattan? If so, please recommend the doctor you used.
Thanks

I was thinking about getting Lasik done but i heard that there is a loss in night vision.
Not a total loss but you get the halo effect around bright objects
But I have heard that there is a new procedure done to reduce the loss of night vision.
I may look into it into the future
But for now I am going to stick to glasses or contacts

Hi Tracy-
I had Lasik eye surgery years ago and still love it! I highly recommend it. I have slight night vision, but not too bad. I wear anti-glare glasses only for driving at night. I used Stahl Eye Associates on Long Island- they were great! A friend of mine used Dr. Modell in Manhattan and had an awesome experience. Pricey, but worth it. Go for it girl! You won't regret it.

I got my lasik done a little over 2 yrs ago in Montreal at a place called Clinique Laservue. Not cheap... about 3k, but my vision beforehand was SO BAD, I was like -10 or -11 in each eye (talk about coke bottle glasses!). Now I'm darn close to 20/20, and don't need to wear any glasses for driving or anything. There was some halos at first but that went away after a while for me.
At the time, the place in Montreal I went to was using a procedure that wasn't Ok'd as yet by the FDA that basically scanned the surface of your eye like a map so they could put all the info into the machine doing the surgery and get better results, especially for people who who were more visually impaired. It was a little extra, but the surgery was the best money I have ever spent! I also went to that place in Montreal because they were the ones that were training all the docs from the US also. I personally wanted to go to the people who had done it ALOT! And if you DO decide to get it done, don't watch a surgery beforehand... I watched my BF's get done 6 months after I got mine done, and I think I would have freaked out even more than I was at the time (something about cutting into eyeballs...eeugh!)
