So, just found out that I didn’t get into osu’s FNP program; I got in the waitlist. I’m pretty bummed over this and dwelling on the “why didn’t I get in aspect”. I know this is futile, but I just can’t help but feel unworthy.
The minimum requirement was a 3.0 GPA, and I had a 3.79. I had a very strong essay and some good rec letters. The online interview was just okay..very little time to think about answers.
Work experience includes one year of general adult med surg and am currently working in the PICU at a top children’s hospital in Cleveland.
Just not really sure why I didn’t get in..lack of nursing experience (less than 2 years), maybe poor interview, perhaps bias towards former OSU students?
Could the PICU experience be hurting me? Could they think that the picu doesn’t fit in with the whole family nurse practitioner?
Any words of advice/thoughts on why I didn’t get in are welcome. Thanks!!

Stop overthinking it! LOL. The way I look at it....technically, you got in, but there wasn't enough room. You were NOT rejected, you were waitlisted. I believe there is a big difference ?
Breathe, relax. Do you have a choice #2 to apply? If so, proceed while you wait be "accepted" into the OSU's program. Or just wait until they have room and then BAM, you're in!
I can feel your tension and nervousness while reading your post. Have a glass of wine and just wait for your spot, especially if that is your dream school ?
Best of luck!!
