I got 2 job offers today as a clinical care tech for two different units. I wanted to know what would I expect in each unit.

I am equally interested in both. I would like to know if anyone has experience working as a tech for either floors.

Neuro patients are often confused and some TBI patients are combative.

Ortho is pretty cookie cutter and mainly post ops who are alert, oriented and motivated to regain strength and attain the highest functional level. Physical therapy is very involved in the care. No isolation patients are admitted to an orthopedic surgery unit. You will have the confused elderly people who fell and fractured a hip post ORIF.

Personally, I would prefer the routine of the Ortho Unit. Other than the occasional pt in dts or arrogant surgeon, it is a very pleasant and well staffed environment.
