Original state nursing license

Do I need to keep my original state nursing license active if I plan on moving in the future? My original license is in Ohio but I now live in Texas but plan on moving to North Carolina in the future. Can I let my Ohio license lapsed, place it in inactive status, or do I need to keep it active in order to apply for the North Carolina license. I will still have an active Texas license when the Ohio one lapses.

If you never intend on working as a nurse in Ohio again, you could theoretically and realistically allow your Ohio nursing licensure to expire. Good luck to you.
