HI
I'm currently not working and unfortunately have to retake stats (I got a D in it) so I was thinking about taking it with my organic chem, and anatomy, I'm not really sure what to expect in anatomy or chemistry so I'm a little nervous about it. Do you think it's manageable?

I would not attempt this schedule based upon your previous difficulty. Anatomy by itself would be a mouthful for most people.

Organic Chemistry can be math intensive, but it is definitely a labor intensive course especially if you don't have a strong math background. Anatomy is intense in the amount of material to learn. Since you had previous difficulty with statistics, you might want to retake the course on it's own so that you can concentrate on the material. The same for organic chemistry and anatomy. Do you have any humanities electives? Sometimes a course, even if it is heavy reading, that is in a different subject area is more doable. Good luck
No I only have anatomy, micro, physiology, and organic chem left. I know I left the hardest for last, now it seems like a bad idea to do that. I was hoping to finish up fall 2013 but I know how competitive it is for getting a BSN these days and I really need to get my GPA up. I have a 2.9 now.
I originally was a molecular biology/biochemistry major eons ago. I would not have taken that combo and survived....and I like math. Perhaps take anatomy & physiology together. Can you take any of the courses over the summer? If you don't have a chemistry background, do you need to take general/basic chemistry before taking organic chemistry? Many schools require general chemistry before organic chemistry so that you have a solid foundation before starting a more specialized course.
Kind of like in nursing school you take fundamentals of nursing before advanced medical-surgical nursing or obstetrics.
Have you tried speaking with your academic adviser for direction and a course plan?
I currently attend Solano Community College and they require me to complete anatomy and an intermediate chemistry class before physiology. I completed a intro to college chem this past semester I got a C in it. Unfortunately because of cuts, the summer classes were canceled. I haven't spoken to an adviser recently after I got my stats grade. I called the one I usually speak to but was unable to get ahold a him. I will try again though.
The organic chemistry is an additional requirement for transferring from the CC to get a BSN.
Try and make an appointment with your academic adviser. You can also see if you are eligible for tutoring services at school. If you have a C in General Chemistry you might want to review the material before attempting organic chemistry since it sounds like math is not your strong subject. This way you can set yourself up to succeed.

Ouch definately hard classess. If I was in your position I would rather try not to rush to finish the classes together but break them down so you have a better chance at getting a higher grade and bring up your GPA to be even more competitive.
Ok thank you sooo much :) great ideas

Organic Chemistry with a already border line low 2.9 GPA I would suggest taking it in the summer with no additional class.... Seems like you are interested in furthering your career on to MSN.... Well the GPA is top priority and to be competitive most look for 3.2-3.5 to be minimum competitive but will accept 3.0 GOOD LUCK I cried the whole semester or Organic Chem I and II

I wouldn't if you can help it. Organic chem is a large one to tackle in itself, adding anatomy on top of it alone would be a lot. Both are very time consuming. Organic made me cry a lot too. Wah. Good luck

Like everyone else here, I wouldn't recommend it. I just took Chemistry and A&P I together and it nearly killed me! I had a 4.0 GPA before these stupid classes...but no more. I managed to get out with a B in both of them, but they were both very time consuming and I can say with absolute certainty that I HATE chemistry, which is weird because I love math and though that would translate. I haven't taken statistics yet so I can't comment on that one.
