Oregon RN job market

Hello all! I need some advice. I have found numerous threads on here about the oregon nursing job market but all of them seem outdated. My husband and our 2 small boys are wanting to move from phoenix to Oregon. Possibly Portland or a nearby area. I'm concerned about the job market there. I've considered taking a travel assignment just to get out there but I don't want to be stuck traveling and not be able to find something permanent. I've been a Nurse for 4 1/2 years. I have home health, tele and recent ICU experience. I just finished training in ICU. I have my BSN as well but no CCRN or trauma certifications. I'm looking to move in a year or so, that way I'll have more ICU experience under my belt. With that being said, what do you all think? Thanks for your help and any feedback you can give me!

With a BSN and 4 years of experience I don't think you would have a hard time finding a job.

the job market tends to be tight for new grads

Thank you! That is comforting to know. I'm looking forward to moving to the PNW. I'm glad the job outlook is better than what I thought. Awesome!

Don't know if you are still considering moving and doing a travel assignment.

my unit used a traveler over the summer and she wanted to stay on and we wanted her too.

my unit is currently hiring, however there are clauses in your contact and my company would have had to buy out or pay a fine if we would have hired her or we have to wait a year.

after she has finished her travel assignment before we could hire her without paying a large fee.

would hate for you to find a unit you like but then they can not hire you until the clause in your contact is over

You sound well qualified! It's mainly difficult for nurses with no experience so you should be good plus there is tons of hospitals in the metro area
