Hello everyone,

I just happened to be checking through the Linfield website last night and saw that our orientation is January 9th. You all have probably already found this but just in case . . .

See you then::p

Hi lilikoi,

I haven't checked in a while, but I am glad to see you are still around! And thanks to linfieldnursingguy for the information and the reasurance.

So yes, I guess we are the May 2011 cohorts...it sounds so far away, but it will come. I never thought I'd get to this point when I started prereq. 3 years ago, and here we are!

I guess the January 9th date was on the paperwork that they sent us back in the Spring, but I've no idea if it takes half day, all day, etc.. Can somebody that did the orientation give us an idea of what we'll be doing? linfieldnursingguy?

Thanks!

You're right 2princesitas, I forgot the orientation info was in our acceptance letter. It does also say (now that I am re-reading it) that detailed information regarding advising, orientation, and registration will be mailed to us in late fall, which I would imagine would be pretty soon.

I am getting so excited as the time gets closer. I totally agree that I never thought I might see this day back when I started pre-reqs!

Well, perhaps linfieldnursingguy, or anyone else can give us some idea what to expect from orientation. . .

Do you have any words of wisdom for us?

Of course!

Don't stress yourself out. It will seem like you get everything at once, and that the instruction isn't clear. Here's the secret: No one else knows what they're doing either (Including half of the faculty):wink2: Seriously, take it ONE day at a time (or a week if you like some planning) and you'll be just fine. It IS a lot of stuff, but it is very manageable if you don't stress yourself out.

It is not necessary to do any of the reading for 103, but DO the reading for 106.

Take Ken's class.

There's a lot more, but I can't think of them right now....

Any of you living on campus?

I am taking Ken's class as it was recommended by a friend in your cohort. It sounds like it will be really helpful. I won't be living on campus as I have a child. I am doing my best to keep stress at a minimum and will hopefully continue to do so.

Hi!

Thanks HeyLush for the tips! And if you think of anything else let us know. :)

Hi lilikoi. I don't know if I met you or not yesterday. I didn't want to ask aloud just in case you (or anybody else) wanted to remain anonimous in this forum. But early in the morning, while we were waiting to have our picture taken, somebody behind me was talking to another lady about the one credit class her friend recomended. Maybe that was you? I was in the yellow team, btw.

By the end of the day I was feeling really overwhelmed, especially when I realized that some of my credits didn't transfer so I only have 37 transfer credits. If we need 125 to graduate, that means I have to cram 88 credits in 5 semesters. I don't know how the heck I am going to do that. But I am trying not to completly loose it until I talk to somebody in the Registration and Records office this week. Well, I am trying, not very succesfully. :)

See ya!

I think that may have been me. Yeah, I get people wanting to remain anonymous if we end up ******** about each other later:) But I am really not that concerned. I was on the red team. Hmm, I am trying to think of how we can figure out who we are without announcing it here?
