Hello! Who else took the Kaplan test this week for Chemeketa's program? I took mine and ended with a 79% . I am feeling a little anxious but slightly hopeful since there was only 80 applicants for 2023. Total points are 328/345.

I noticed that there is no content for the 2025 application here, so maybe I should start one.

I finished my Kaplan exam, and I'm so disappointed with my 79%. I missed 1% to get 40 points. How did you guys do? Does anyone know how many applications there are this year?

Hi! I noticed a thread on the previous years' OHSU BSN alternates, but there's nothing for this year. I thought I'd create one to see where students are on the waitlist for OHSU. If you've been added to the alternate list, please leave a comment or reply with your current status (accepted or still waiting for a call).

Btw, I am an alternate student at OHSU Ashland campus.

	Hello everyone,

I do really need your help. I am confused. Oregon BON doesnt even have customer service. Email takes forever and the specialist is like go over the requirement. I read it so many times, still confusing. I studied my diploma in nursing internationally from Asia, came to USA, passed RN NCLEX exam, currently have VA RN license. I am planning to move to Washington state soon, I got a job offer from Oregon state. Was applying for RN endorsement to Oregon state, since I will be living in WA state,

1)could I apply in Oregon state Board of nursing for endorsement -(RN endorsement international educated nurse?

2)How about the address can I put WA address residential address in the Oregon BON process or will they reject my endorsement process? I am planning to work only in Oregon state.

	3) I received the fingerprint scheduling email today for OR state, does any one know that if I have WA ID card or Driving license of WA state ? will the endorsement process be rejected or fingerprint be rejected?

4)last question, I need to apply for CES process for RN Endorsement via CGFNS, there are two process for CES one is CES academic and other is CES professional, which process should I apply for? Thank you

	Hello all,
I will be moving to Oregan in the next few months and I'm looking for some insight into Riverbend Hospital. I currently work at a level 1 trauma hospital. I have 3 years old ED experience, but I did move to another unit due to work and life stress. Granted, I did work through the first 2 years of Covid in the ED, so that was some unusual stress. But, I do miss parts of the ED. Does anyone have some insight to how Riverbend ED is? Would you recommend it as a good place to work? Do you get your breaks?
My old ED was 1:4 ratios. We commonly boarded ICU level patients in the ED, so then we would be 1:2. We had ED techs to help with EKGs and some things but no CNAs or LVNs. Peds and adults were separate; I only cared for adults.
I would appreciate any words of wisdom!

So im thinking about accepting a position at St Charles Bend in Oregon in the ED but it seems like I've only read bad things online about the hospital ( very short staffed, not giving lunch breaks, poor retention). I am wondering if anyone can speak to their experience there and let me know if this is true? I don't want to move to work at a hospital that won't treat me well! Im coming from across the country so insight is helpful!! (Im a new grad btw)

	Hi, everyone!

Just as the title says, graduation with my ADN/BSN is getting close and I want to know about experiences with nurse residencies in Oregon. DM me if you'd rather not publicly post about a particular hospital.

Also, does anyone have any experience with applying to nurse residencies from out-of-state before making a move to the state? (I am from Texas).

	Thanks, everyone!

I am renewing my license for the first time and I need 2hrs of CE in Cultural Competency. I took 2 classes that I thought would satisfy the requirement but when I went to print the certificate one specifically said not approved in Oregon ?

Sadly, I paid for it and didn't take it right away and believe that the certification expired. So frustrating! The other classes that are on the OSBN website - a lot of them are not actually found on the links - the organization is there, talks about training, but there is no actual training link. I literally clicked on every link. One is $97 on blindness and how it affects care - not to be picky, but I'm a school nurse and for $100 I'd like for it to at least somehow relate to my population. Anyway, it has been frustrating!

Can we use credits that are approved by the American Nurses Credentialing Center? It's parent organization is the American Nurses Association. Seems legit...

What Home Health software is typically used here in Oregon?

I'm new to Oregon, moved here from Texas. Most of my experience was with Homecare Homebase. I'm curious to see what everyone has seen, what people prefer, what agencies typically use, etc. I'm in central Oregon but would love to hear responsed from all over Oregon.

per "Upper Management" throughout Legacy, they have and will be removing chairs and workstations...the expectation is that nurses should chart "standing" in patient rooms or out in the hallway...Nurses don't need need chairs right?

Honestly, a 12 hour shift is fatiguing and nurses burnout with chairs to chart with...smart move to remove the chairs and work stations to burn them out faster.

Choose a hospital to work at that that understands that nurses need terminals and chairs to chart assessments, progress notes, admissions, discharges...Patients want to rest and don't want their nurse sitting in their room charting and making noise...Not smart for RN retention or Patient Satisfaction. Bad move Legacy Health. At a time when nurses are overworked, stressed, risking their own health and their families you decided to do this...

yes, some charting can be done in a patient room at the time of care, but definitely not all...Patients want "care" not to watch you typing into a computer and not looking at them...you are there to serve them and they will be upset if you use their room as your charting station...good luck with that.

However, for me to take my NCLEX in the state of Oklahoma they need a valid visa and I can’t afford to leave the US right now with covid and everything. I have attached the requirements in the picture below. Is there any state that has different requirements from Oklahoma that I may be able to take my NCLEX in? Thanks to everyone that’ll help.

	Hi,

I just got my RN diploma from an RN-to-NP direct entry program. To make a long story short, I decided that I no longer want to be a provider as an NP, and to pursue my longtime dream of being a medical illustrator. For the next few years I will work and save up to pay for medical illustration school.

My question is, within the next about 12 months I can either get a BSN from any online program, or get my MSN from the same school online that I went to in person last year (good reputation) that is a nurse generalist MSN-ie not an NP.

Which is the best option for making a high income quickly? If it makes a difference, I live in Oregon.

	Thanks, I appreciate your thoughts.
