Hello-
I'm a new nursing student and have my heart set on working in the mother/baby unit after I volunteered in high school at St. josephs MBU for two years. My question is do orange county hospitals hire new grads often in mother baby? I am especially interested in Hoag hospital, so does anyone know if hoag hires new grads onto MBU as well? I'm really excited to hear what you have to say. Thank you!

I believe HOAG does. It isn't too hard to get into specialty areas as a new grad, though you may not be able to at your first choice hospital.

Hi RN to be. Hoag is "quirky" and really not all it's cracked up to be. Your best clinical experience will most likely be Mission in Misson Viejo. They have extended their L and D and MBU recently. They have wonderful low turn over supportive staff and supervisors. They also report a high rate of job satisfaction.
Ask for a tour. You will be happily suprised!

I know that St Josephs only hires new grads on night shift.
