OR slang doubt

  1. This is a question from a bemused transcriptionist.

Dictator says "It was difficult to rotate the patient's neck and therefore the operating table had to be airplaned."

    What does "airplaning" mean?

Were they putting in a Central Line or were they putting in a Port-a-cath?

Neither. It was for removal of cerumen from the EAC.

There is no hurry. The file was uploaded after the word was doubt tagged. It is around 4.30 am here in India and I will be logging out. I will check out again tomorrow.

It is a continuous learning process for me.

    Thanks for responding.

"Airplaning" just means a lateral tilt to one side or the other.

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer. Time now for me to hit the sack as I work the graveyard shift.
