I have been an RN for 5 years, but no inpatient OR experience. I just interviewed with an OR about a week ago. I can't think of them all, but here are a few that I can remember. A lot of them were very similar. They want to hear that you know how to prioritize and handle yourself in a stressful situation.
-Explain a time when you've had a difficult patient. How did you deal with it?
-Do you prefer to multitask or tackle each task one by one?
-Have you ever been asked to do multiple tasks at once? How did you deal with it?
-Explain your work attendance history
-Explain a time when you've had a conflict with a co-worker. How did you deal with it?
-Explain a stressful situation you were in at work and how did you deal?
-Have you ever been involved with a big change at work and how did you deal? (I used the example of switching over to computerized charting)
They didn't ask any OR specific questions.
P.S. I got the job....and I'm extremely nervous about the learning curve!

I am a new grad RN trying to get a job in the OR, I was wondering if interviewed what should I expect or prepare for before the interview?
