Career path change

  1. After 21 years of L&D, I want out. I don't want a do nothing job and if I transfer into the OR, at least I can use some skills I already know since I scrub and circulate on OB cases. I have just put my app in to several hospitals and hoping to have an OR job soon. I'd like to know if any of you have any recommendations for educational stuff. Books, cd's, dvd's, vhs videos. Anything that will help me acclimate and learn faster? I've looked a little over the AORN site and see that I can order books there. Anyplace else to look?

Hello, I have just started a peri-op certificate program. The 2 books we are required to have are "Alexander's Care of the Patient in Surgery" & "Standards,Recommended Practices, and Guidelines" They are both available through the AORN site, but I got them slightly used and much cheaper on Ebay.Good luck!
