I'm looking for websites that sell the bouffant surgical caps. I did a search on Yahoo and came up with several sites, but the majority have no variety in patterns or colors. Was wondering if anyone had any other sites they like or know of that sells these?

I've recently visited a website that have exceptional and varied caps. It has variety of colors too. Try to visit http://www.HatHappy.com - click at the "online store" button and all the way down click the button that says... "View Scrub Hats."

Hat Happy had a huge selection, i'll probably order a couple from there.

I looked at Ebay, but until my Paypal straightens out, i don't want to risk bidding yet.

We are not allowed to wear them due to AORN standards...

I haven't really looked at the AORN standards in this regard--chances are they (hte ones making this rule)haven't either--I never could figure out anyone's rationale for not allowing us to wear them--personally, I think it's just one more way that some supervisors need to "control" us....

AORN recommends that after daily use all reusable surgical attire (including scrubs, cloth hats and warm-up jackets) be laundered in a facility-approved and monitored laundry. In hospital-approved laundry facilities, conditions are monitored to meet specified parameters. Home laundries do not have the capability of monitoring pH, dilution, wash temperature, drying temperature, storage conditions, transportation, etc. With all the variables involved in monitoring compliance with a home-laundering policy and the absence of definitive scientific research, AORN still recommends that reusable surgical attire be laundered in facility-approved and monitored laundries."

Our facility will not pay for our personal items to be laundered..... so, we can't wear them..... kinda bums me out, but hey, I gotta work, so I follow our hospital p & p.

I did forget to say that in the total joint replacement cases, you can't wear these hats. In those rooms, you wear the usual blue hat, and then the 'hood' over it.
