Ontario Second-Entry Nursing

Published

Hi Everyone!

This is super early to talk about applying to nursing school for 2016, but it's always better to be well-prepared! Let's share some thoughts and help each other out!

I am re-applying to nursing schools as I did not get in last year, and planning to enroll to more courses for pre-reqs and to increase my GPA (I graduated with a B.A.)hopefully this year will be much better and with luck!!!!

I have a few universities in mind to apply -

  1. University of Toronto
  2. York
  3. Nipissing
  4. Western
  5. Queen's
  6. McMaster

Should I apply to more? Which one should I apply? I am super eager to enter the program and I failed once, failing twice is not allowed!

Feel Free to give me suggestions or ask questions! Here is a link I found online listing most of the second entry nursing programs.

Best wishes to everyone! Good Luck!

I got accepted to western today. I won't be accepting, so that will open up a spot for someone :)

I found it complemented the placement I did in midwifery. I'm not sure how it works with the nuraing though. Midwifery was different...we had a four month long placement and our only course was an online PBL group every week. It was a good chance to see what everyone else was learning and to share experiences.

Thanks so much for answering all my question :) Now I'm way less nervous about it.

Just got a conditional offer from McMaster! Haven't received a letter yet, so I'm not sure how well I have to do for my in-progress course to get admitted. For those worried about GPAs, mine was only 3.3 from UofT. Don't give up hope!

congrats!! Do you mind sharing your GPA?

I graduated from uoft with a 3.3/4 last year. Then I did a one year post grad program at seneca and received a 4.0 for cgpa.

Need 60% in your in progress courses and 70% overall l believe. You can see your offer letter on your mosaic:)

When accepted for either Mac, Western or UofT do you get an email first or it pops up on their respective sites (i.e Mosaic, joinUofT etc) Also for the people who just got accepted was it during business hours or evening? Thanks!

I got accepted to mac today too!!!

Did you find out your capster score?!

Just got my final offer into Mac today!!!!!
