Hello Everyone,
I am currently a third year York University student hoping to apply for second entry nursing at York
only next year (yes I am going through the strike).
Since applications open in November, I thought it would be best to get this forum started. I am hoping to get more insight into the program and I hope current and past nursing students would share their views on the program and how job searching went. Also, what nursing specialties do most York nursing graduates enter as I am hoping to get into public health. Furthermore, share your insights on Humber, McMaster, U of T, Trent, Queens, Western, Ottawa and Nippissing. (I think that is all) and don't forget to include your acceptance GPAs.

Stats: last 2 years have around a 3.7 GPA (83%) and a cGPA of 80%. Im currently taking 2 humanities courses to fulfill their pre-requisites. Extracurriculars: Im a registered dietitian, have a master of public health from UofT, and have a bunch of research assistant and volunteer experience
I know it's hard to do but if you're waiting around you might be waiting for 2+ months to hear a response. Keep your life full and exciting so you can focus on other things. Also if you dont get in you can reapply next year and the year after... I didnt get into my masters my first time applying and I thought once I became a RD I had "made it" in life. But look at me - going back to school. Lol. Life is a long long long journey. Keep your chins up!
congratulations ?

Thank You!! Congratulations to you too!!!? I had around an 88% in my last 5 credits, and had a huge variety of ECs - 3 years of research experience; publications & conference presentations; volunteering at food banks, church events, campus events; did some athletics - a really wide variety of stuff!

I did really bad in my first three semesters and my marks were bad. But this opportunity has showed me that UofT truly weighs everything and considers the supplementary app a lot.
I hope the best for all of you!!
CONGRATULATIONS ❤️ You deserve it!!! What did you talk about in the first two questions from the personal statement?

thank you ? I wrote about how some of my strengths might help me succeed in the program and briefly some of my experience that shows I've volunteered in a health care related field. The second question was about the experience where we learned something in a non academic context. I wrote about my experience of learning how to be patient with one of the students I tutored made her less insecure about her academic weaknesses. I learned how patience IS compassion and trust. I saw this because she started improving on her own (e.g. trying out books she's never challenged herself to before) when I was more patient.
What did you guys write for the second question? ?
