Online RN-MSN Programs with Non-nursing Bachelor's

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

Hello all!

I'm approaching the end of an ADN program and hold a bachelor's degree in another field. I'm trying to decide between one of the numerous RN-BSN programs available or an RN-MSN program for those holding a non-nursing bachelor's. Would you please share knowledge of online RN-MSN programs?

I'll start the list with the following:

Chamberlain College of Nursing

Drexel University

Gonzaga University

Loyola University

Nebraska Methodist College

University of Wyoming

Western Governor's University

Thanks in advance!

Has anyone attended and had reviews? Thanks!

Where did you decide to go? Any other recommendations?

Specializes in ER, ambulatory clinic, hospice, homecare.

Where did you end up?

I have 244 undergrad credits including my ADN. I really don't want to take on anymore undergrad debt.

A quick glance at the member's posting history reveals she is still looking for an online ADN-to-MSN degree program. She posted the following thread at the beginning of this month:

So if you do one of these programs that don’t aware a bsn even though you take the classes for it. Does that still mean you are not hirable to hospitals that require a bsn??

What an old thread resurrected from the dead.lol I commented on this YEARS ago. Anyway, I had a bachelors in another field and Excelsior College took my BA and my Associates in Nursing. I obtained an MSN from Excelsior College in 2015; NO BSN and honestly....no one seems too care. I'm THINKING about going further but my daughter just finished HS so my priority is her at this point. I will tell anyone if you want to bypass the BSN, go ahead. Many more opportunities will open up for you.
