Walden Leadership and Management Practicum Experiences

Nursing Students School Programs

Hello

I will be starting my practicum soon and wondered how the experience was for anyone who went through it. How did you go about choosing your project etc?

Trini

Hello Trini, Sorry I can't answer your question but I was wondering how you are finding this program at Walden. I have narrowed my choices down and this program seems fitting for me. Any tips?advice? Thank you so much if you find a minute to get back to this. :)

Hi Hallstar 85

Walden may not be for everyone but the program worked for me. Contrary to what many believe the course work is challenging. You need to set aside time to participate in class and do your assignments. Walden had a scholar practitioner model and I can tell you I am able to apply what I read/learned/discussed in my daily practice immediately even though I am a staff nurse with only 4 years experience. The professors are extremely supportive and give you feedback in a timely fashion. It has not been easy road for me but I'm just taking it one class at a time and you should to.

As for the stigma regarding an online program I don't believe in it. There has been an evolution of my critical thinking and leadership skills since starting the program. If you attend any online program you really need to make and manage your time appropriately. You will need to find our own learning experiences so start networking to find your filed sites. If you have any specific questions you can pm me.
