Hello everyone! I plan on applying to UTMB for Spring 2018 entry and can't find a post on it, so I decided to make one! I am taking my TEAS end of April. I already have a degree from the University of Houston in Health Communication and minor in Nutrition. I am finishing my last two prerequisites (A&P2, Microbiology) right now at a community college. Anyone else looking to apply? Deadline is coming up next month, so I thought it would be awesome to get a group thread going! Would love to hear from others applying!

Thank you !! Hopefully they contact us soon. In the email I received for choosing an interview date, it went up until this Thursday so I'm assuming they will regroup after that and choose.

Just got a waitlist interview so it looks like they are almost done with the spring cohort. The only interview days they gave us are this Thursday and Friday.

hey y'all!

i got an acceptance email today at 8:43 am. I already payed my deposit of $200.

for those of y'all that are already accepted, do we not do our background check until november 1?

when can we start getting our immunizations checked?

I'm most likely going to ask for roomates, I am from Austin, TX.

excited to meet everyone ! Background on me.... I'm 26 years old and a patient care technician in Trauma here at the level 1 trauma center in Houston. I'll be moving out there and putting all my focus into school. Can't believe it !!

Congrats to the both of y'all and you can do your immunizations and bls as well..since utmb now has a contract with a new background company they will be getting a copy of our immunizations, bls(which needs to stay valid throughout the program) and be doing our background check and urinalysis.. we won't be getting the a okay for the 2 background checks till mid November when they send out the emails for us to register for them. Congrats now you get to wait more like the rest of us :) and when you get on the fb page for the class just ask who else is looking for a place..some have already asked on the thread so it wouldn't be an issue as we will all meet each other...living off campus is ideal as I know the on campus living arraignment can be full since they only have so much room

We can get our immunizations done now, in fact I am starting mine next week to be sure I have ample time to get them done. I ordered most of my supplies already, except my scrubs and already filled out the order form for our lab coat ceremony. We have to wait to do the background check, fingerprinting, DO, insurance info until November. I went apartment hunting on Sunday on the island. There is some great places (Carelton Courtyard/Parks at Cedar Lawn/Captain's Landing), and there is also some not so great places as well. I actually mapped out the addresses of the apartments on the list I was given at my interview and so it was much easier to navigate and separate what apartments were vs were not close to campus. My name is Samantha Freeman and I am also on the UTMB FB! Feel free to add me! I can't wait to meet our cohort and experience this crazy ride together! :-)

Hey guys! I just joined and was reading through some of yalls posts and wanted to chime in! I applied for the Fall 2017 application cycle and was put on the waitlist and never called off of it. Then I applied for the Spring 2018 cycle and received an email for an interview back in August but I already interviewed for the fall cycle so I called them to tell them that like it said on the email. I currently haven't heard anything back yet. Is this the case for anyone else too? I talked to a staff member on September 14th and she said to allow 3-4 more weeks but its so hard waiting!!

For the TB shot portion of the immunization form, if I had to get the TB shot test for my job this summer can we just use those results?
