UT Health Pacesetter Summer 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Was waiting for someone else to make this thread, but I'm too anxious!

I am applying for the Summer 2019 application cycle at UT Health Science in Houston.

Stats:

HESI Overall: 92.4

Nursing Pre-req GPA: 3.88

Science Pre-req GPA: 4.0

Cumulative GPA: 3.41

My science Pre-req is excluding Chemistry. I'll be taking that in the Spring along with a few last minute pre-reqs. I have 2 F's in random classes on my transcript from a few year ago when I lost my mode of transportation. Unfortunately that's bringing my cumulative GPA down. Still feel like I have a shot though, so I am applying!

I'll also be applying for UTMB Fall 2019, Lone Star Fall 2019, and reapplying to UT Health Fall 2019 (if need be).

Hi! I just got into the UTH Pacesetter program for Spring 2019, so I figured I can answer this question. You do not need to take the Critical Thinking portion. You might want to check if other schools you are applying to require it though. I originally had taken the HESI for UTH without Critical Thinking, then later on decided to apply to another program that required Critical Thinking. I ended up being able to take that separately for the other school.

Good luck!

hi, could you please tell me what school you took critical thinking for? I am in that same boat and want to apply to another school which would not require me retaking the whole exam.

I wonder if they take the most recent score. If they don't I might take it again as well.

From their website: "The exam cannot be taken more than two times under the UTHealth code... The most recent submitted score is presented to faculty for review."

On the application it wants us to put self-reported HESI scores. It says to add your "HESI ID", and I'm not sure what that is. On the HESI assessment report, I see "Student ID", "Session ID", and "Delivery ID". Which is it??

Just called and she said to leave it blank

Hello regarding the Labs being done online, how would they know you took the lab online. On my transcripts from Dallas Community College for Example BIOL 2420 Microbiology credit hours 4.00 Grade A

Daphne, does your transcript say distance education, distance learning or telecollege anywhere?

hi guys!

Im so glad this thread was made.

I actually applied for spring 2019 but I didn't get in...so Summer 2019 here i come??

Do you mind sharing your stats? Also I've seen a trend where applicants who are denied one term get in or at least waitlisted the next. Either way hoping and crossing my fingers for ya!!

Hi, sorry I just saw this. I applied to HBU and took Critical Thinking there. I had originally only taken HESI without CT using the UTH code. I took it at a Prometrics testing center. Just a warning, my computer crashed in the middle of my Reading Comp section and messed me up a bit. I almost wish I had taken the whole thing at HBU, but I didn't have time bc I took it the day before UTH deadline.

Thanks for your reply. I also took it with UTH code and didn't get to write critical thinking (sucks cos other schools require this). I never knew as well. Just looking for other options that wont require me retaking the whole exam.

I know for sure HBU will allow you to just take the Critical Thinking portion with them. You can't buy just that part of the exam, however, so you'll have to pay for a whole HESI w/ CT exam. I was accepted at their program so I know that they allow this. I planned to go if I didn't get into UTH. Any other school I'd suggest calling them and asking if they allow just CT to be taken.

sure! thanks

Yea no problem I contacted Dallas community college

On your transcript it will only show Micobiology 4 credit hours and the grade that you made that's it
