Tidewater Community College Spring 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey everyone! Upon reading some other nursing students post that applied last year to start TCCs nursing program this Spring 2017 I figured I would make one for us students applying for the spring 2018 start. I want to get into the evening/weekend cohort so I can stay with my young one during the day and then go to class when his dad comes home but I will be applying to all cohorts. I took chemistry at ODU and received a B and have also taken HS chemistry. Attended my open house session. I have A's in ENG 111&112. B in SDV 101. This semester I took A&P I, PSY 200 and PSY 235. I will most likely get a B in A&P and A's in both PSYs. I'm taking Micro over the summer and then A&P II and PHI 226 in the fall. Applications are due August 15th. I have not taken my HESI A2 yet I plan to do it at the end of July. I bought the book the school recommended for studying for it but have not studied it much yet I plan to once this semester is over. I am so nervous about applying. I've worked SO hard and I feel like it would be so devastating to not get in. I've read some other posts and I'm nervous about not having A&P II and PHI 226 completed by the time I apply. I hope they will look at my other grades and know I will do well in those classes too. I made this post so if other students find it we can encourage each other, answer each other's questions, and keep up with each others progess- after all we might be classmates in less than a year- might as well make friends now, am I right? :) anyhow, good luck to all of us!!!!

well thats kind of reassuring. I'm banking on not getting in with such a low HESI, I don't want to get my hopes up. I saw last year a girl with an 80 HESI got in but I think that was the lowest one I saw. I'm just hoping maybe everyone had lower scores this year.

I checked all

Guys!!! Ten more days!!!!!

9 more days!!!!! I'm praying that I get into this program. I checked all except the weekend cohort. Is anyone an LPN going for the LPN-RN Advance Placement?

I'm wondering if not a whole lot of people applied for this semester since this thread is hardly as active as the other threads were...

Getting nervous!!! I wasn't planning to apply because we had orders overseas that got pulled last minute!! So I took hesi without studying at all!! I made an 80.5, but nervous it won't be enough. I have an A in all courses except for 3- English 1 and 2 and psych which I have b's! Good luck to everyone!!!!!

Hello everyone,

I'm Johnny. I have been going nuts waiting to find out if I got in or not and found this thread. Misery loves company. Sorry I'm late, but I'm here now. Did any one here anything yet. tick tick tick. Tired of chasing the mailman and then today is a federal holiday, so foiled again.

They said the letters won't be mailed out until the week of the 15th. So we have another week.

I am so nervous! I only got a 74.29% on the HESI.

Depending on the overall scores you may be okay if you fell in the 45th percentile. Anything less than the 45th percentile won't get looked at from what I hear.

Yes, I have heard that as well. I have all my co-requisites and a good GPA, so I hope I will at least be considered.

I am so nervous! 6 days till letters go out! I heard enrollment was down... but maybe people don't know about the thread.
