Sac State Nursing for Spring 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Is anyone here applying in October for Spring 2018 nursing program at Sac State? I know this is the last semester to apply for the older criteria and CSUS will be changing the selection criteria for Fall 2018. What's your gpa? Teas score? points? I haven't taken the teas yet and I'm super nervous.

Are you talking about the schedule/clinical placements?

Yeah, I think that's what she means.

Exciting and a little daunting to see our long orientation checklist... Wondering if folks are going to buy the electronic book bundle only or the electronic and hard copy book bundle?

Are you talking about the schedule/clinical placements?

Yes the schedule

I believe they said some people will receive theirs earlier than others because they are still working on sending everything out.

Yes the schedule

I don't think anyone was placed yet. Current Sac State students will be placed on the 18th of December and transfer students on the 5th of January from what I was told.

This is taken from the class schedule link on the orientation page: "...our Clinical Placements Assistant, will email your NURS 112 clinical section assignments by Friday, December 8th, 5 p.m.-they may not all go out on the same day, so don't worry if some of your classmates have their assignments and you do not! We regret candidates are not allowed to choose or switch their clinical placement-no exceptions."

So I'm guessing this will be just a manual email with the section number without any placement on my actual Sac State schedule?

That would be my first guess but i'm not 100% sure.

Anybody else stressing a little bit over this extensive checklist?

I'm excited and a little stressed. More than anything else, I'm still worried about making a mistake that might disqualify my application. Trying on the uniforms today, I was struck that, after years of prereqs, I am truly about to start...an exciting thought!

The uniforms we can try on are samples so we know what to order, right?

Definitely a large checklist - you're not alone. One at a time and it's a lot easier for me to manage
