I feel okay with my application. I have a 3.39 cumulative GPA but I had a few mishaps at WSU. So that makes me feel a little uneasy, but hopefully my essays explained my situation well enough. I really like the core values PLU embodies, so I hope I get a chance. How are you feeling? The whole June decision is nerve wrecking. Lol

I feel okay like you said. I am taking A&P2 right now and I'm going to retake intro to psychology in the summer to boost my GPA in case I do not get into PLU. I am very confident in my essays and school history but my GPA worries me. I am ready to just hear some news already lol, it is very nerve wrecking. Have you volunteered or anything like that before?

I totally know what you mean. Retaking classes is a good way to boost it. Idk how PLU looks at grades, but I'm hoping its similar to WSU. the higher grade replaces the lower grade of it's a c- or lower... I did about 50 ish hours of volunteering in the ER and was in the Marines for 5 years where I took as many medical classes as I could. Unfortunately idk how well they will look at that time but hopefully they take it into consideration. If I don't get in this go around, i plan on getting my CNA and working some ER time. How about you, did you do some volunteer or work hours??

Yes I believe PLU looks at the most recent grade but I could be wrong. I'm currently volunteering right now in the emergency department of Mary Bridge Children's Hospital. Plan on doing 100 hours so I can boost my resume cause I know PLU doesn't require them.

Hey guys!

I also applied for PLU's BSN program. Last year I made the mistake of submitting my application after the priority deadline except to my surprise I still got on the waitlist, but unfortunately did not get into the program. lol can't really expect anyone would just give up their seats. This year I applied on time and have been on edge waiting for something to show up in the mail. I know a few people in my classes last year actually got results late April. I believe they take in 40 applicants for each cohort, so good luck to everyone who applied!!

Hey AY_nurse, thanks for commenting! Sorry you did not get off the waitlist but that is still an accomplishment in itself! Hopefully this year you get pulled into a cohort so best of luck to you! Surprisingly some people do choose not to go to PLU and give-up their spots if PLU wasn't their first choice. Hopefully we do get something late April I'm so tired of checking my mail everyday lol, I'm a nervous wreck. I wonder how many people actually applied though.

I know the nerves are the worst part! From what I remember the letter last year mentioned that briefly 400 people apply but I'm sure that number varies every year. Like last year there were around 300 so more chances to get in. Hopefully we have the same luck this year and competition isn't too bad lol.

Yeah hopefully, I haven't really heard of too many people who have applied so I'm definitely curious. Have you been to any of the information sessions?

Yeah I went last June and honestly i felt it was really more informative for first year freshmen applicants. I would definitely attend one if you haven't already though. I had a lot of questions answered when I did and she really went through a lot of information for transfer students too and like options to minor in while your in the program.

Okay sounds good. I plan on attending the session on May 1st so hopefully it is informative for me. I do not really have questions I want to ask so far just curious as what everything looks like, do they provide a tour?

They didn't provide a tour when I went to mine but if you have your email registered to PLU's admission office, they always send out alerts on days that they hold campus tours and sit ins for classes!

Oh okay that would be dope!
