Nurse Corps Scholarship 2018-2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi Everyone, I'm planning to apply for the HRSA NurseCorp Scholarship this year. I figured I would go ahead and start the next thread for this award year. I'm currently finishing up some of my prereqs and will be starting my BSN program in June. I know the application date hasn't been released yet but from what I have seen on other threads, it should be opened sometime in March/April with a deadline in May. I've also read that the prompt questions have been the same from one award year to the next so I have begun working on them as well as trying to figure out who I would like to use as recommendations. I would love to hear from all who plan to apply this year.

Hey guys! Ive started my application process for the Nursing Corps Application. However, there seems to be a requirement for service 2 years after graduating. Anybody know what the requirements for the service are? Can you work in a hospital to be eligible? Which hospitals are included?

Thanks!

Hi all! I too have a question about the areas you can work for your service years. Does anyone have a resource of what might count? I live in Minnesota and I would like to stay in the area I'm in and as far as I know it does have a nursing shortage but I'm not sure if it would count or not.

Additionally - I'm in an accelerated program that already started (3 days ago) but will last through the 2018/2019 school year so I'm assuming it would count?

Thank you and good luck to everyone!!

You can find that info on the nurse corp site, but I think it's mental and psychiatric shortage. Yes, you can work in a hospital.

There is a number on the website for areas of practice. Pretty sure in the handbook it said year end on 6/30 for commitment and starts July for the new commitment. You should look at the handbook there's a lot of info in there. Good luck to all

Nurse Faculty; I plan to apply for the scholarship as well as the loan repayment... I am working on my DNP but still owe for my BSN and MSN... Good luck everyone!

Hey everyone ! I am happy you all are here to help each other . Is anyone got the email from nurse corp lately stating that letter of recommendation is missing ?? I got the email from them but when I look my application it says complete and I know my recommenders submitted it. Also if it is not submitted it would not let me go on and continue application , but lt did and I already submitted it. I called today twice someone said ask the recommenders to call, another guy said I am fine if it states that everything is complete ! Any suggestions ?

I would do both just to be safe and screenshot the pages saying your app is complete.

The deadline to apply is 6/14/18 at 7:30 pm. I essays are now 500 word limit and there are 3 of them. I have submitted everything and I am just waiting for one last letter of recommendation to be submitted tonight. I have ADN and work in emergency dept of a trauma 1 hospital in impoverished city. If I get this scholarship I will be moving to a very rural area of Michigan to serve low income patients. I really hope I can get my bachelors with this scholarship! Good luck to all of those who apply!

Good luck you too !!! Please let keep each other updated guys . 2018-2019 is passive comparing other years ))
