Lone Star Fall 2017 ADN Hopefuls

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey I was wondering if anyone else has started a post on Fall 2017 Lone Star ADN Hopefuls... & If not then let's get this one going!

Plan to apply but I would hate to be wait listed with a 7.1 or 7.2 so the only thing I can do Is retake AP 2 for an A.

Just in case I don't make it this round.

BUT, Does it look bad if you've repeated a course 3 times? I didn't fail. I received a C the first attempt, B second, and now I need an A for sure lol. My HESI scores will be at least 90 avg. I couldn't find anything about it online. Will they use the highest grade or average them?

Never mind.

I am applying for the Fall 2017 semester and I have a 7.2 objective score.

Hello Fall 2017 hopefuls! I am applying to the lonestar ADN programs. My first choice is cyfair second choice is tomball! I have 7.58 points and a 920 in critical thinking. Apparently, they are now using the critical thinking score for admission purposes so I was ecstatic to have gotten in the 900s!

@Cupcake713 what did you make in AP1?

I got a B.

Hello future nurses!

I completed my HESI after taking it 3xs (really crammed a few days before each time and finally learned enough).

I struggled with only A&P each time! Final score was 82%. I KNOW I could have done better if I put more effort. With working 12 hour shift/Full time student/ Full time mother I just didn't have the energy to prepare as well as I should have! Needless to say, I'll be applying this week for BOTH LVN and ADN for all campuses!

Making sure that just in case I don't get in ADN silk have something to fall back on!

-Another thing, your hepatitis B series have to be COMPLETED for this application. Wasn't like that in the past... you only had to start it... 6 month process if you've never gotten it... but make sure you are working on getting that COMPLETED! Total of 3 shots!

I passed AP 1,AP 2, ENG 1301 & 1302 w/ B's!

If I'm not mistaken, the LOWEST average for calculations for ADN FALL 2016 was typically around 7.0! Also have to take in to consideration HCC students had to transfer!

Im excited for everyone reading this! I will be doing a Video on YOUTUBE to help with the HESI test... I took a few questions and examples from my "memory" and will discuss them. ESPECIALLY from AP section!

-Side note... is anybody else dealing or have dealt with the BON regarding criminal record clearing? I know someone who has a Class A misdemeanor (non-violent/drug/alcohol related) any news on that?

Hope to hear from you all throughout this process! Don't be shy!

Nette, I swear we are like one in the same! I have taken the Hesi a couple times and failed the A&P section each time! I finally passed that section with a 76; now, I want to take it again just to attempt a higher score. C in Engl 1301, B in A&P I, and a C in A&P too. I want to apply but I don't think I stand a chance.

I made a 76 but AFRAID that next time I take it, I'll be making those 72s again.. so heart breaking, BUT I'm going to do a YouTube video explaining what I'd do differently if I were to take it again and refer to all videos blogs and practice test that helped me this last time.

What is your average on the score sheet? If it's below 7.0 I'd retake BUT prepare hard for it! I'm at a 7.2 for ADN... I'm holding it right there.
