LBCC Spring 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello Everybody!!

I applied to LBCC's ADN program this past week and would like to connect with other students that also turned in their application for the upcoming spring term. I do not really know the selection process for the program, but my stats are listed below.

My stats:

Science GPA: 4.0

Overall GPA: 4.0

Hi! I applied on Thursday! Did you go to any of the mandatory information sessions? Students are placed into 3 different groups according to their science (Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology) GPA. I was told that they take 20 students with 3.5 - 4.0 science GPA, 10 students with 3.0 - 3.49 science GPA, and 10 students with 2.5 - 2.99 science GPA. I'm in the 3.5 - 4.0 science GPA category.

No way, I applied on Thursday as well! I attended the meeting, but I don't remember them addressing what happens when there are more than 20 students that apply to the 3.5-4.0 category. Like what else do they use besides GPA?

At the info session I went to, another prospective applicant asked how do they choose the students for the program. The lady running the session said that they randomly pick 20/10/10 students for the program and I believe 20 alternates. That's all I remember her saying. She didn't really get into detail about it.

Hi there! I also submitted my app on thursday! Im a first timer, so i dont have huge hopes to get in the first time, but might as well get my name in :)

Good afternoon, has anyone received anything? I heard some people had received letters already, but I thought it was way too early compared to other semesters. Good Luck to everyone!

hi eve93! that's strange. it's only been less than 2 weeks. i haven't received anything from them yet. do you know what the letters consist of? my guess is incomplete application packets.

It is supposedly an acceptance letter. Usually the acceptance letters are recieved first and the denial letters are received 3-4 days after. I find it weird since other semesters the letters were received in the first week of October.

thank you. good luck to you!

Yeah that is very strange because the nursing counselor that I went to said that the absolute earliest that they could get them out would be the end of September or early October. I will try to call them tomorrow if they are open and see what is up. I can't imagine that they would get everything out so quickly.
