Hello! Help PLS

I am waitlisted at LACC at #38

is it possible for me to still be accepted?

Anyone know any applicants who have got into the program after being waitlisted at such a big number?

PLS HELP

LACC is my first choice. Otherwise I'll have to look at private college as my next option. Should I stay positive about this?

I'm not familiar with the school, but number 38 does not sound hopeful. How many spots do they have, total? Have you asked the admission office what your chances are? Sometimes they'll clue you in.

The staff who I contacted at the admission office mentioned that in the previous years she has seen even the last alternate get accepted. She urged me to accept for now and go from there wait. Overall she was very encouraging and positive.

OK, you made me curious and I checked out their site. They claim to accept 20 to forty students total, so I can't imagine they'd get to alternate #38. I also saw they're not competitive entry, but put everyone who qualifies into a lottery... so maybe they use a lottery to select their alternates too? If that's the case, you might have a chance ... but if you're ranked 38 and they're going down an ordered list, it's time for plan B.

I'm #44 so you're ahead of me at least. I agree though it's a pretty High number. :/
