Hello my fellow Floridians! I am creating this post to welcome anyone that will be applying to attend HCC's ADN Nursing program for Fall 2018.Please provided...

Your Preq GPA,TEAS and if you've already submitted you app.

If there is already a thread please place the link below.

I have an 3.5 ,TEAS 63 and I will be submitting app by end of this week :)

Hey there! I haven't decided if I am going to apply for the Fall 2018 or Spring 2019 (since I read they aren't providing a night class for Fall 2018 & I may need to do that program) I currently work at TGH during the day, but don't know I will be able to switch to part-time or will have to quit all together for the program. Decisions, decisions! Anywho, my prereq GPA currently is 3.64 (I thought it was higher, I've gotten all As except for a C in Algebra) :(

and I am in A&P2 right now. I am taking the TEAS in March, any advice?! Then I will submit my app.

Nice to meet you!

They aren't providing nights? That will be a problem for me ! Too. I dnt have advice on TEAS because I didn't study at all before taking the test . Every is high school level . Science ,math is basic algebra ,English is on punctuation and dissecting a article . Depends on what you struggle in I would focus on that because it could mean a lot with your passing score

Yeah, that's what I have heard is that TEAS is not that difficult. I think I'll just look over the algebra again a little.

This is what is says on the HCC website:

January 15 - SUMMER Entry

Transition Option:

LPN to RN/ Dale Mabry only

May 15 – FALL Entry

Program Options:

Basic - Dale Mabry, Southshore and Plant City - Daytime

Basic - Daytime Basic: Plant City – Evening /Weekend

August 15 - SPRING Entry

Program Options:

Basic - Dale Mabry, Southshore and Plant City - Daytime

Basic – Dale Mabry – Evening /Weekend

At this time, we do not accept late applications.

So if you are apply in May, and want to do the nights/weekends, they are only offering it at the Plant City location. If you want to do it at Dale Mabry, you have to wait until August application so start next Jan. 2019.

wow class is only 2 days right? il have ot get off work at 4:30 then and go over there that's a shame

Hi guys. I'm planning on applying for fall 18' also. A lot nervous but will proceed. I'm currently taking A&P 2 and micro and hoping for all A's. I have gotten A's and B's thus far. My question is, how do you determine your g.p.a for the nursing program? And I'm planning on taking the teas In feb

Hello!

I was planning on applying fall 2018 but honestly don't think I will get in I have a 3.3 currently and I'm hearing and seeing most cases the cut off is 3.5. I have taken my teas already got a 77 but don't think my GPA will be high enough

Still apply. You never know. Heck, I currently have a 3.47 and hoping for all A's to boost it. Don't give up. You've come too far. I also looked into Polk state college. Idk how far that is for you but may be an option

Thanks for getting this thread started! I'm planning to apply for the Fall. I took my TEAS over the winter break and got a 78. Since the calendar year resets Jan 1st for the TEAS exam, I decided to take it just for giggles and I did fine. I am finishing up with A&PII and then I am done with pre-reqs! I've currently got a 4.0 so hopefully I'll finish with an A in A&PII. Can we actually submit our application before being finished with classes?

niquamayers I've heard some rumors that they are changing the layout of the curriculum and they may have 3 days a week -- don't hold me to that rumor. The class that just started this Fall will be attending during the Summer and will be finished up in 18 months, but that is not a permanent change/offering. I think it's just to get them through a transition period to the new schedule / curriculum.

I turned in my application today. Pre-req GPA 3.67; overall GPA the same. I got an 81 on the TEAS. I was a little disappointed when I realized that there wouldn't be any evening classes at the Dale Mabry campus, but I was planning on moving this summer anyway, so I guess I'll just move closer to Plant City now. Good luck to everyone applying.

Hi. I'm planning on applying this Fall 2018. My TEAS score is 78, my prerequisite GPA is 3.68. I have not sent my application yet. I recently emailed HCC, I think Health Sciences Admissions, and they said the program started a new curriculum this spring. The email said the program is offered daytime (Dale Mabry, South Shore and Plant City) and Evening/Weekends only at Dale Mabry. Before was offered at Plant City. I think they need to update the website. I did not like that they said that our campus assignments are not guaranteed. I really would like Dale Mabry morning or Evening/Weekends.

They did not give my an specific cut-off GPA for admission but it seems that is about 3.4 or higher. they said it changes from term to term. They responded pretty quickly my email. Also, they sent me a link to the Nursing website for prospective students Prospective Students - Hillsborough Community College - HCC. A friend of mine finished the program in December and received the awesome news that she passed the NCLEX... now she is looking for a job :-) She is the one who told me that when I had questions about the program to email Health Sciences Admissions. Good luck to all!!!
