Hello everyone!

I just wanted to start a topic for this upcoming Grossmont ADN cohort (Fall 2017)! What are everyone's stats? (GPA, Teas, etc). I'm currently focusing on applying to Southwestern since it's due date is at the end of the month!

Good luck to everyone applying!!

Specializes in GENERAL.

Grossmont is the best deal in public education. Look them up at (collegescorecard.ed.gov).

I can't believe that their tuition is so geared to help educate rather than loan up and financially destroy...

if you know what I mean....

I got into Palomar for spring but decided not to go as it's a long commute for me. I turned in my San Diego city application in December and am waiting to hear back and am taking the TEAS 6 at the end of this month to turn in my Grossmont application. My science GPA is a 3.58 and 3.4 for other classes. I got a 80% on the TEAS 5 so we'll see how this version goes. Also I have 2 years of surgical tech experience and a bachelor's degree and a second language. Hopefully I get into Grossmont it's my first choice because it's closest to my house but I would be ok with City as well.

@taffy17 Ah! I would of loved to go to Palomar! lol. I have an associate degree, CNA and experience!did you get or applied for any points for the life experiences?

Yep I have life experience points. Also, I just got my acceptance email from City today.

@Taffy17 Congrats!! Are you going to city? what did you anticipate your score would be? I wanted to apply to City college but I finished my physio and speech class just this december and couldn't make it to the deadline. But my packets are ready for Southwestern, Palomar and Grossmont

I'm going to be applying to Grossmont at the end of February! My points depend on my TEAS test I'm taking Thursday! If I get a 80% on the TEAS I will have 81 points!

If I get into Grossmont I won't go to City. I have calculated around 87 points.

omg you have such high points. I'm at 84 points.

i don't want to go to grossmont anymore haha. I want to go to palomar now.

Hi

I applied for Grossmont, Palomar and Mira Costa. Hopefully I get into Grossmont because it's the closest but I hear it's the most difficult to get into out of all the community colleges partnered with Point Loma for the BSN program. Is that what you heard too? Does anyone know the average points from the last previous cohorts?

I have a 4.0 in the science prerequisites, 3.8 in the fixed set, and a 90 on the TEAS 6. I think I'm at 88 points..

I'm applying to Palomar and MiraCosta. Was going to apply to grossmont but im waiting on a 3rd hep b shot and won't make the deadline. I'm an Emt, worked at a hospital, 88 teas, 3.6 science 4.0 gen eds. I've calculated 86 points! Almost all of the ccs are partnered with Point Loma now. I know Palomar and MiraCosta are. I think MiraCosta is the hardest to get into because the program has become so impacted and they only take around 25 people. I finished most of my pre reqs there and a friend who applied for spring 2017 told me that the average points was 85-89 for that cycle and possibly the highest it's been. The counselors have also told me that 86 pts has been the average the last couple years.

A guy I work with only scored 76 on the TEAS but had As and some Bs with work experience etc., and he just started grossmonts program! From other forums on here it seems like points in the 80s gives you a pretty good chance and getting into palomar or grossmont, I've even seen those in the high 70s get in.

When you applied at Palomar did they go

through the application packet with you? I went up there today and the nursing office was unexpectedly "closed" for a meeting. I live an hour away so I didn't want to leave and go back tomorrow. A few others were also there to turn in apps and we were able to still go in and leave our apps on the front desk, but I really wanted to sit down with someone and have them

go through it! I guess I'll just have to call tomorrow and bug them about it haha!
