Fscj rn summer 2018 hopefuls

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi,

My name is Brittiany and I'm applying for FSCJ's Summer 2018 Nursing program. Anyone out there applying as well?

Hello everyone! I am applying this semester as well. I was wondering if anyone knows about the hesi scoring for the appliction? I noticed that the application says you have to make a 75% in each subcategory to be considered- is that only for the four categories they listed or is that for each category on the test?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the second page of the application says they won't even consider anyone with a score of less than 75% per category. The hesi was super difficult and you've got all good grades in your classes, I'm sure this is a bummer.

Hello all! I just made an account because I applied to the nursing program for summer of 2018. I'm super excited yet nervous. I didn't do the best on the HESI but I have a friend who is about to graduate from the program in a couple of months and she told me to just submit my application because there is always a chance I could get in. Here are my scores and grades.

A&P 1 - B

A&p 2- A

Micro- C

Math- A

Humanities- A

Human growth and development- A

ENC1101- B

PSY1012- A

Chemistry- B

Hesi: Reading comp - 76%

Vocabulary - 88%

Grammar - 82%

Math - 66%

This was my second time taking the HESI this year. The first time I got a higher math hesi score. this time there was more fill in the blank. Any advice? Does anyone think I have a chance of getting in?

Ashley, how did you do on the HESI exam this morning?

Well I submitted an application anyways. I figured it's worth a try. Someone told me it honestly depends on the "application pool". So if I have better scores than some people I may be put on a waiting list, like getting in because someone declines their spot. I don't know though. I got a confirmation email back so I assume they received my application and will review it.

This will be my third time applying to the RN program, I have retaken the HESI and improved my scores and I have also retaken a class that I had received a C in and instead got an A. I am so scared to get denied again. I have 139.63 total points. Below are my grades and HESI scores. How is everyone else ranking?

My grades are:

API-A

APII-B

Micro-B

Math-A

Human Growth-A

Psychology-B

Humanities-B

English-A

Chemistry-A

My HESI scores are:

Reading Comprehension-90%

Math-88%

Grammar-92%

Vocabulary-84%

Do they count your most recent hesi score? Or can you send in the one you want them to use as long as its not over 2 years old?

Specializes in Level II Trauma OR, Oncology/Neuro/Ortho Med-Surg.

You're right in line with what I had when I was accepted for Spring! :) I had 139. Would have been higher but I hadn't completed Human Growth yet. Taking that during Term 1 now. Great job and good luck!!

I think it means jus the subtests listed (Reading Comp, Vocab, Grammar, and Math). I called and spoke to someone in the Nursing Department and they said it's just those subtests. I was really confused though that it meant EVERY subtest, including the ones not counted on the Ranking Criteria chart. Did you hear differently?

You are a very busy woman this week! Best of luck!

Well it makes me feel better that you have talked to someone and they said it is only those specific categories.

I would not ignore the Science portion of the test. I would bet money that if two people have the same amount of points; the panel would take the candidate with the higher science scores.
