California State University San Marcos ABSN, Summer 2019 (CSUSM)

Students School Programs

Updated:   Published

Priority deadline is officially set (December 3, 2018), so I figured I'd start a thread for those applying for Summer 2019. I'm working on finishing up my PreReqs right now and still need to take the TEAS but am waiting until I finish A&P to do that. Unfortunately, my last class (Public Speaking) will not end until December 12 so looks like I won't quite make the priority deadline but I'll have that last transcript in as soon as they're out.

Anyone else applying?

Hey there! Thanks for making this thread!

As for applications, I'm in the same boat as you. I'm finishing up physiology and microbiology this fall semester and have yet to take the TEAS. Fall semester ends in December for me but grades aren't posted until January... I'm hoping that I'll have enough points to be admitted for summer! I'm from the Bay Area and this is the only ABSN program I'm applying to (so far) so I'm hoping that everything works out!

Finally a response! :) If you don't mind me asking, can I ask how many points you have? My fall 2018 transcript won't be sent out until late January after the priority deadline and I'm trying to gauge if I have a chance getting into summer semester by the second or third wave of acceptances or might be pushed back to fall.

Thank you and good luck to you as well!

It's a little hard to say because my last 60 credits are undergrad at university and prereqs at community college mixed together and I'm not exactly sure exactly what credits they will take from... I beleve around 33-35 range depending on which ones they look at. Not great, but not bad either... I will let you know when I get an evaluation tho in a month. What about you?

That's a really good score!! Very competitive :)

I'm currently taking my last two prereqs, which is microbio and physio, so if I get A's in both classes, I'd be at around 35-37 points. This is including points for my GPA from my last 60 units. However, I haven't taken the TEAS yet but will be scheduling to take it sometime in December, so I'm not sure what my points will be overall. I'm relocating from the Bay Area if I do get in, which is why I'm hoping I have a chance when second/third wave acceptances roll around so I can start preparing for housing, etc.

Good luck to you and I appreciate the fast response!

That score is awesome!

I am originally from an area 15 minutes south of Temecula. I really like the area :) It is a lot less busy then the San Marcos (but also a little farther from the beach). It looks like it might take 3 months to hear back for admissions :/ That is going to drive me crazy! Of course! Good luck to you!

I submitted my application on November 30th! I spoke with the school and they said they would send out acceptance early January. I'm super nervous as I estimate my points to be around 29-31, but I will have to wait for the official evaluation to know for sure!

Congrats on submitting your application and thanks for the memo!

I submitted my application a few days after priority deadline (Dec. 6) but I'm hoping I'll have a chance when the second wave of admissions rolls around. I'm actually quite surprised at how quiet this thread is but hopefully it'll be more active once people start to get admitted! The waiting game is the hardest part of all this! Good luck to you!

Hey everyone! I also applied and barely made the deadline with my last microbiology prereq. Relieved to be done the prereqs though!! Man, I took all of those classes accelerated and nearly lost my mind.

Can't wait to find out if we get in!! Where is everyone coming from? I'm commuting from Carlsbad :p wish I'd made the San Marcos cohort cutoff, but I'm hoping by sheer luck I'll get a San Diego clinical assignment, at least (watch it be Riverside).

Hey guys,

Best of luck to everyone applying! I applied on Dec. 3rd but am also completing my final prerequisites right now and won't be able to send in my final transcripts for those courses until early January. I did take the TEAS and believe I'm going to complete my current prerequisites with A's, so if that's the case I'll have around 37-38 points. Does anyone know when we should be hearing back about admissions?

Hey guys! I am a rollover applicant from the Spring application process. I was waiting for a repeat prerequisite class to be over so I could update my evaluation score. I don't want to skip over the holidays, but I am so eager to find out any admission information!! Good luck to everyone :)

@ahudson27 I will be commuting from Carlsbad too! Have you seen the Temecula campus? It isn't too far, if I remember correctly, it is the first exit once you hit Temecula. San Diego clinical assignment would be awesome, fingers crossed!
