Brightwood college students anyone?

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone, is anyone here a previous student of Brightwood college in San diego ? I really need to talk to someone who's in the same situation of mine , I applied 2 months ago and they only accepted 5 students into their RN class !!! I had good grades on my wonderlic and hessi test, I also have medical experience , has any one here applied for the month of April and was eccepted/ not accepted ?

Hi. I was accepted for April, but as a generic applicant. I assume you are an LVN. I heard they only accepted 5 LVNs, but I also heard it is normally 7!

They accepted me as an LVN, but I wanted the RN. I have a question for you, did you already have your general edu classes done ? did they accredit you for them ? also are they really giving more points towards anatomy, physiology and microbiology to count toward your overall points for admission?

I have all pre-reqs done, except college algebra. I still dont know if they accepted all of them, but since they are from ASU and community colleges, I am hopeful they will. I dont know if they use pre-reqs to total points; I thought it was hust based on 1) patient care experience, 2) a prior degree, 3) and HESI score.

I finished my all of my general ed, except CS115- which you can only take a Brightwood and they were accepted. I'm not sure if you get more points for them, but like what @KT1028 pointed out, I believe it is based on those three things.

I also agree with KT1028, they probably accepted 5 LVN's into the RN program, but I believe that they accept 30-35 students into the program in general.

Ok, here is why I am confused qnd asking all these questions, I went to this lecture at my community college, and there was an RN that works as a sponser between our college and Brightwood, they pointed the thing of that Brightwood was giving points towards general education classes that the student had taken before going to their college, and especially for (a&p 1- a&p 2, and microbiology) they were also saying that whoever takes lets say LVN program at Brightwood, they will be eligible for sure if they wanted to continue doing RN after they finish with LVN . Now all this was not what my representative at Brightwood had told me when she called me to say that I was not accepted for the RN class for the month of April . I am all confused here , and I thought since the beginning even when I didn't know if they are giving points for the three classes , I planed that if I was not accepted for this semester that I was going to go and take the classes no matter what coz I know at least that they are required but what I don't know if they will transfer.

Which community college we're you going to take them at? I took all of mine at San Diego Mesa College and they were all accepted

Dc117.... have you received an email yet? When Patty called me last Monday she said I would receive an email either Tuesday or Wednesday of this week. How do you know that all of your pre reqs were accepted? I havent heard a thing!

I just spoke to Patty earlier, but she'll have to give your courses to the DON to approve. It'll be done before classes start though, because she'll give you a form to sign off :)

Thanks! Did she mention an orientation date? I dont want to bug her with a call, but im getting anxious!!! Haha

She hasn't yet! I'm waiting too, I'm so excited lol!

I wish you both luck guys, DC117 since I was not accepted for this term what I am trying to do is to take A&P 1 and 2 along with microbiology so I can get them outta the way, I am trying to take them at Southern California University it is kinda far from San Diego area more towards LA, but I am taking them over there coz they are accelerated classes , each class takes only one month or so. were you already an LVN? or a generic ? and if you don't mind me asking how much did you have on your Hessi ?
