Hi everyone! I have yet to see a thread but I wanted to make a page for students applying to TCC 2018-2019. I'm applying for the August deadline which is less than a month away! I'm so nervous and I have yet to take my Hessi. Please feel welcome to be a part of the thread even if you're not applying to TCC yet for information or advice!

Hey I just applied the first day we were able to and was told they are not holding the Spring Cohort which is a bummer. They are taking 30 applicants from this cycle and 30 for the next one and combining them for August 2019 start date. I'm super bummed that we will be starting even later. HESIA2 was easy I studied for less than two weeks and got a decent score! Good luck!

Hi and welcome! And I know, I just went to an information session this past Wednesday and I heard the same. It is a bummer! Can I ask you what your score was and what you studied with? I am so nervous to take it! I really hope we get in I have all A's and one B that I got in English and I'm applying without A&P 2. I'm so bummed about the amount of people theyre taking this year but it is what it is. Thanks for commenting!

Not sure why my post above went through twice. Oh well.

Wow amazing! Great job! You will for sure get in!! I will absolutely used some of the stuff you studied with. You should be proud!

I am finally signing up for the Hesi today. Do you know what site we go to to sign up? My info packet says to sign up online and I am sure I could find it I just wanna make sure I'm going to the right place. And how does that work? When we sign up do we just make an appointment with the TCC testing centers to take it? Will they automatically receive it? I'm sorry for the silly questions I'm just anxious lol! But seriously great job you should be very confident about getting in! I would be very comfortable with those grades/scores.

Use* My bad.

Thanks for the compliments I appreciate it. For the Hesi you follow the TCC testing center prompts or use the nursing admission packets instructions to pay for and sign up for it online. Make sure to print your receipt for TCC when you take it at the testing center. You have to sign up 48 hours before your exam so i signed up on a Thursday and took it the following Monday.

Hope that helps!

Yeah no problem, and thank you! Keep me updated on anything that happens! Hopefully more people will comment(: I tried to reply to you a few times but I don't think any of them went through.

I found out yesterday that I cannot apply with my microbiology or ethics. I took them through portage learning which is accepted through ODU and Sentara. I feel so down. I feel much less competitive.

I still have somewhat decent grades, I have all A's and a B in our English.

Does it still sound like I have a chance? If I at least make an 85 on the Hesi? I feel like maybe if they were accepting the normal amount of people this year that they would but my heart is sinking just thinking about it.

Waiting for our results will kill me lol!

Crush the HESI and your odds will go up. Did you get an A in A&P 1 and 2? Those will help a lot. 90+ HESI will be clutch so study hard. You can do it.
