Online NP vs Traditional NP Program

In 2013, the tradition seems to be online. I'm in a mostly online program offered by a state university. I would not, for any reason, give up working full-time to go sit in class all day. I get more out of reading books than hearing an instructor's perspective. To be successful, however, you need to be disciplined and self-motivated. You'll find that a lot of the NP classes you'll take should be online. There is no reason whatsoever to regularly attend classes like research method (let alone two of them), nurse theory, public health, etc. those should be online, lol.

I very much prefer the online format. I did my BSN online and did very well. I also found the school I attended right here on this site. I was interested in what others thought of their programs and found it here, but I did a lot of research myself. I still have the notebook I collected all the info on the different schools. Peterson's website was helpful too. It is important to find out what type of Capstone course they have such as either a thesis paper, project, or oral examination etc you have to take and pass in order to successfully complete the program. One on here had to pass an oral exam, and if she didn't pass, she got nothing for her efforts but the bills. You typically do not find out about this until very late in your program. I asked this question before selecting my school.
